Hello chums
Today I've come over all Alan Partridge (not literally ) and developed a hankering for Japan's pretend S-class. Although, when you see these things in the flesh, you really do need to wonder whether the joke was on Germany!
It all started few months ago when a guy joined our company and rocked up in a mid-noughties LS430. Having since been in it for an outing, I must say, I'm really rather enamoured with the thing!
And it's not the only Toyota I really rather like either; the Landcruiser is quite an impossibly talented machine too. Gawd, what's happening to me?!
Anyway, back to the LS, or more specifically, this beastie:
Isn't she a beaut?
Anyone who's ever been in one will surely agree that there's nothing more refined or better riding this side of a Phantom. Quite nippy too, for a big ol' girl.
Think I'm definitely having a premature mid-life crisis (the wrong way round).
What say thee collective jury? Are there any major pitfalls I should look out for? I know our ol' chum Der had a particular soft spot for them, and now I'm beginning to understand why.

Maybe I'm wrong but if this thing follows the general rule of thumb that it depreciates 50% every 3 years then you're looking at a new price of nearly £1million!http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

Imagine the bills when a £400k Merc goes wrong. Spectacular, like a financial supernova. I can honestly see these heading to zero worth.
exactomundo. Light switch? £3k probs. Reclining bed motor? Imagine if that fking electrochromic opaque ceiling thing goes fk... the ultimate in ruinous, and it's coming YOUR way!Speaking of Mercs and depreciation. This looks like an honest E55 Estate. Cheap as well.

Headlight switch is around £100.Alternator on the other hand is almost £10,000 for the high output one that this car will likely have being a fully specced model.
Most parts are shared with the W220 or W140 so prices for this kind of car are *reasonable?!*

Me too. We don't have anything that fits in the 1-5 camp, but it's such a knowledgeable, interesting and active thread...
Anyway, as this thread has been awoken from its slumbers, I'll drop this thought in here.
Checking the MoTs for this. What sort of wazzock forgets, two years running, not to take his illegal plates off before going for an MoT ?
Bentley Arnage 4.4 4dr

Another Arnarge, gorgeous colour.

Unfortunately, I doubt Mission Control will authorise the addition to the fleet so soon after the last ones.
"Gorgeous colour" looks like a default ordinary colour -well,to me anywayAnyway, as this thread has been awoken from its slumbers, I'll drop this thought in here.

I just love a nice blue barge. But, like you say, that's probably just me
