Maybach 62 V12 (2004) - £58,950

anyone plotted the depreciation curve?
Maybe I'm wrong but if this thing follows the general rule of thumb that it depreciates 50% every 3 years then you're looking at a new price of nearly £1million!

Well obviously you're dealing with high roller figures, but as a % the depreciation seems to be more than decent - almost an investment?

Imagine the bills when a £400k Merc goes wrong. Spectacular, like a financial supernova. I can honestly see these heading to zero worth.

Speaking of Mercs and depreciation. This looks like an honest E55 Estate. Cheap as well.

Headlight switch is around £100.
Alternator on the other hand is almost £10,000 for the high output one that this car will likely have being a fully specced model.

Most parts are shared with the W220 or W140 so prices for this kind of car are *reasonable?!*

eek Does that include a discount for returning the faulty one? I think I'd look into installing some solar panels on the roof!

Me too. We don't have anything that fits in the 1-5 camp, but it's such a knowledgeable, interesting and active thread...

Anyway, as this thread has been awoken from its slumbers, I'll drop this thought in here.

Checking the MoTs for this. What sort of wazzock forgets, two years running, not to take his illegal plates off before going for an MoT ?

Another Arnarge, gorgeous colour.

Unfortunately, I doubt Mission Control will authorise the addition to the fleet so soon after the last ones.
"Gorgeous colour" looks like a default ordinary colour -well,to me anyway
I think "default" is a silver car, 3 pointed star at the front, odd blue glass and dull grey seats.

I just love a nice blue barge. But, like you say, that's probably just me

smile
Bit of pot , kettle, (pardon the pun) black on my part ,as when i ordered my Qashqai -Blue was the only colour for me biggrin

I can hear the squeaks and creaks from that plasticky interior from here.

Lovely car but that centre console (especially the sat nav surround) and those seat adjusters are utterly craptacular.

They're a little better in person but the electrical niggles those Jags have, christ. The warranty company forked out £1800 for a headlight and £300 for some pedestrian accelerometer issue.

Nice looking car. The cost of running these are mental though, along with the input above the ~£500 road tax is eye watering.

A few years ago my wife went with me to look at one of these and said "your XJ6 feels like it was once an expensive car, this feels like it was only ever 15 grands worth". I feel she summed it up nicely. Jaguar don't ever seem to have put a really compelling interior into their two door cars though, in comparison with the saloons.

18k feels like a lot of money for what you get. There are many, many things higher on the desirability list for the money.

I'd actually prefer the older XK as well and save 10k.
