Nice looking car. The cost of running these are mental though, along with the input above the ~£500 road tax is eye watering.

A few years ago my wife went with me to look at one of these and said "your XJ6 feels like it was once an expensive car, this feels like it was only ever 15 grands worth". I feel she summed it up nicely. Jaguar don't ever seem to have put a really compelling interior into their two door cars though, in comparison with the saloons.

18k feels like a lot of money for what you get. There are many, many things higher on the desirability list for the money.

I'd actually prefer the older XK as well and save 10k.

I have never been in one. I saw the ad and thought hmmm. Then I read a couple of reviews which said the 5 litre is supposed to be better than the 4.2 and this XK is lighter than its competitors and the adaptive suspension works well and.....you get the idea.

Show me some of these other 'things'?

The exhaust note more than makes up for the interior.

If you get before 2006 , it's £290 for quite a lot of the fruity stuff (although doesn't apply to XK8).year or so back my mate sold his XK8 with full £500 road tax thrown in !

I hope they're sorting the quality on the newest generation of Jags because it's been st for a while. Now they're out of the red and have some money to not automatically go with all the lowest bidder components, you'd really hope they'd come out with a properly premium product.

What's the consensus on these?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

Fancy something more upmarket than my Honda Accord Derv EX estate, will this be less reliable? I had a hankering for a C32 or 55 but the economy is a slight worry!

Anything to be aware off? Surely these are the last of these series junior estates, or get a similar vintage E320.

This has popped up a mile away from me... Must not lose concentration. Must not submit. I don't think it has heated seats, and I can't bring home a car to Mrs DTP without 'em fitted.

Nice E38 740i on scummy old Gumtree

Very clean MOT history. Apt registration too. I always have a particular type of fondness for locally registered cars.
You'll want the 1-5 thread bro!

Don't get me started on the boot on mine, not helped by the local VW main dealer breaking the bottom electrical shield knuckle. Having said that I live with it working some days and others I have to lift it up by hand.
I imagine this very late car has had improvements over my 2004 car, it is a fabulous bit of aluminium casting though that could probably support a small bridge.

anyone plotted the depreciation curve?
Still see a significant number of these at work dropping passengers off to their planes.
