Damn you defblade I think you jinxed it! Had the magic trifecta and speedo fail, thankfully wheel speed sensor fixed it though. Had a bit of time to add up all the invoices for servicing/maintenance inc MOTs and tyres - worked out at an average of £890/year excluding fuel, insurance and RFL. If I exclude the chocolate gearboxes (yes plural) and torque converter bills, that drops to £528/year. Infinitely cheaper than a lease of any kind, might do some more research into B10s though, how eye watering could a 3.3 be? hehe

Yes it's a twin turbo W12, I guess if you have a decent repair fund handy why not?

I don't, I think it looks great in the Flying Spur 4 door guise. As it is basically all VW Phaeton running gear and controls (a bit more expensive in manufacturing cost compared to the Phaeton) and the engine having turbo's rather than N/A in the W12 Phaeton most high mileage cars are pretty reliable.

It certainly has a unique 'get the fk out of my way' quality about it that only a 100k+ car can exude.

I prefer the looks of the Flying Spur too. And this one looks in better nick, notwithstanding the higher miles: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

So do I, did not realise they are also in budget. Far less footballer than the GT.

Great ad for that one: "Full service history 1 owner, Blue, £18,000"

...really?!

A true return to form. Can't be too much depreciation left in that either?

EIGHTEEN GRAND is absurd for so much car. If only I had a bit more bravery.

How many private sellers of £100k+ Bentleys which they've owned for over 10 years know how to write an ad? That's a perfect description biggrin

If you can find a good independent garage to look after it just one drive in those cooled massage seats will convince you. You may strike lucky too, when I bought my Phaeton I set aside £20K as a bork fund. In my four years of ownership I've only paid out £500 for PAS pipe replacement. Major expense will be fuel as you probably won't be able to resist flooring it.

Did you mean to put £20K there or was it a typo? Assuming as it needed a "fund" it was out of a 3-year warranty at the time of buying, add on 4 years in your possession puts it on a '10 plate at best.

Was £20K so you could just throw it away and buy another if it broke? hehe

Have a soft spot for the Phaeton, such an understated but hugely capable car. Would guess that 95% of people have no idea what it is. Would love a drive/ride in a W12 but they are like hen's teeth.

I had a sum set aside of £20K (which I bought shares with) just in case in true Luxo Barge fashion it went tits up. Its a 2004 car with only 62K miles so not even run in yet. To date I've only needed £500 for PAS pipes so I'm well up on the idea, if it needed a few £1000 spending on it I may have otherwise its worth more in spares. I guess my wife may have something to say if I did dismantle it for spares in the drive though.
I have now put the car up for sale for £4K as I've just bought a Mercedes CL65 AMG to replace it
