That's a lot of cash for a ten year old Merc with epic Bork factor surely?

Don't think so personally, massive rarity factor. Still VERY fast and powerful By modern standards. Very very expensive when new.

The owner of that one posts on MBclub forum; I had a look at his old posts and it has been mapped at MSL to 640bhp/798nm.

Yes I read all of his posts last night, he also attended something called Terminal Velocity with the car a few times which seems to be like a cheaper version of Vmaxx. He also has lots of pics on the car on Instagram. Can find a lot out about certainc ars with a bit of snooping.

The other silver W220 S65 AMG on AT, also up at £15k, has been up for around 6 months so it seems there is a limited pool of buyers for these cars.

Lower end of thread budget

Total lunacy for the money
A couple of these were floating around the £5k-£6k mark around the end of last year but I thought I'd be sensible and wait until the new year but I haven't seen one that cheap since.

Budget for coil packs (£1,500ish) and a ABC system refresh with new pump (Manufactured pumps circa £500, not the many ££££ you often see quoted), filters, fluid and good hose and it should be as reliable as any other W220, but with nothing more than a remapped ECU and TCU they'll bang out 11 second 1/4 miles and put bus lengths on almost anything on 4 wheels from a roll.

Awesome cars, but I do wonder who is spending nearly £10k on them. Too much money to be 'disposable' if a major S600 specific component were to fail but not enough to make a bill deep into four figures a no brainer.
That ad says 68,000 miles. It could be a car which is in good condition but unfortunately that is all it is worth. Such a lot of car like you say and makes you wander if the 65 is really worth double the money.
Down the road from me think I will go and have a look tomorrow.
Did you manage to look at the S600?

Phaeton W12 - seems cheap for something that's got a lot in common with a Bentley Conti GT.

I thought these were 444bhp rather than 550bhp as the ad claims?

Did you accidentally paste the wrong link? I thought no humans liked the R Class.

4wd with decent ground clearance, torquey motors and tonnes of space and comfort. The perfect Alpine bike/ski carrier and you wouldn't cy when opns their drr into the side of it.

I'll be all over an R500 when they're a bit cheaper. Don't know how painful they are to run though.

They don't have a great reputation but I concur with Woody. There's a lot worse out there if you need lots of space.

You're right they are 440 probably mixed up the torque figures which are about 550 Nm

Considering the F11 550i in that thread last month was 30k, on the face of it that is a bargain.

It's just a shame it's so fugly and in such a poor colour.
