I'm thinking about an SLK55. Anyone driven one of these?
Best you read this.

... And then not worry about it as its a totally different model
Oops sorry my bad, Mercs aren't really my thing.

Carry on...

I was going to liven this thread up a bit the other day by posting some V10 M5's until I looked on Autotrader and there were 103 M5 & M6's on there from as little as £10k.(all be it for a cat D)
Amazing how these how many of these are down to this price range.
It will be interesting to see how they endure as the years and miles mount up on them.
Got to be a pretty scary purchase IMO.

I've been looking at these too. There are even 55k-mile examples at £15k or so. I'd love one, but I'd not tolerate the running costs (or even just the cost of the warranty!).

I've had mine for 3 1/2 years now and 19k miles. All its needed in that time is tyres and servicing. The engine is pretty much bulletproof. I had the kleemann remap / exhaust headers / cams done last year so it now puts out between 420-440bhp . I was toying with the idea of selling it but there's nothing comparable for the money.

I think the problem is the non-R or RS XF, is that it hasn't dated all that well IMO.

It has a very generic look and nothing like what is expected from a Jag. To some its a good thing

Then again, I couldn't help noticing an R in budget:

No long for these now:

SWB will be my preference, but I very much doubt they made much if any? Anyone know. The ones I always note are business-class "L" spec.

I was beside a green (!) SWB one on Hammersmith bridge a couple of weeks ago - spotted the exhaust / v12 badges on the side. So they are out there. It was on a private dateless plate but mycarcheck showed it as a 2012. I didnt realise they were over 500hp.

560 bhp aren't they? That tune the N74 is in would appear conservative if the Merc twin turbo V12s are anything to go by.

I went into mycarcheck just there to see, and it's 537bhp - but I'm also talking rubbish about it being an SWB as it came back as an Li - although being a barge geek I could have sworn it wasn't LWB as that was what I noticed first.

It wouldn't be the first time a small registration detail has been recorded incorrectly

Not quite a barge in the CL sense. But this late CLK deserves to be here. It's a 500 Sport, under 13k.

Well spotted. This has the later 5.5 from the early na amg cars. Should be a bit of a weapon that.

I was under the impression that the 760 from that model type, (F01?) was only available in LWB.

Which is a disappointment. I could be wrong though.

I want to win the lottery and put that V12 into a 5 series touring. evil
