Looking at the pics, that's not a impreza engine, it's a transverse 4 pot of some description. It'd have to be sitting between the front seats to get the g'box behind it between the rear wheels if it was a imp' engine.

well looking at the PICTURE above it looks like an inline transverse four with a gearbox on one end
