How does air suspension ride when at a useable height?
The guy with the RS4 says the ride quality is 95% that of very good coilovers.

Cheeky twunt wink

There's a hell of a lot of hard work and time gone into those cars, the air-ride on the RS4 took 10 weeks as it was the first RS4 that had ever had it fitted. There are many subtle mods that many people won't notice.
Can't say I'm a fan of bag suspension on cars like RS4's but each to their own, I'm sure theres a lot of time and effort spent on them.

If it was an A4, wouldn't mind as much. But If your going to have 450>bhp in a car, get a proper sports suspension kit rather than air ride...

Decently. Modified. Cars.

FFS.

Not arse draggers with rubber band wheels and drug dealer windows that look as if the entire UK's Weightwatchers failures just sat in them.
As I said above, I know they're not to everyones taste. But come on then smartarse, what's your idea of a decently modified car?
I think they're actually close to being nice but each one has slightly overdone one aspect and has made the complete package not work. They all look well done though, I just prefer performance and mods to enhance the driving experience. For some people the cars looking a certain way will enhance it. Each to their own.

I know your comment wasn't aimed at me by the way, just my 2P. wink

Exactly, we all want different things from the cars we like. All the cars I put up before are show cars, and as such are set up differently to one used for track days or fast road driving.

Up to around Oct last year, the RS4 was on coilovers, but the only real thrashing it gets is on 1/4 mile sprints at shows, so fitting air-ride wasn't going to affect his driving pleasure.

Apart from the lack of useable suspension on show and the Bentley wheels, they look, well, kinda standard.
The bentley wheels are normally stolen as well hence why see a lot of case's of continental gt's on blocks due to the demand for the VAG scene. Don't understand the slammed look though mate has an old beetle slammed the ride was st before but now it is truly awful and he has to plan his route around speedhumps. Seriously wtf it is no longer a usable car just about get it to a show and then struggle to get back again just pointless. Same with stretched tyres again wtf. I can personally understand lowering so the wheel's fit the arches properly or whatever maybe 50/60mm on coil-overs as can improve handling but slamming just looks st and cant be good for handling either :/

Perhaps they are being stolen a lot for a reason however and it certainly is not as spare's for other Bentley's. Not blaming the VAG scene for that however but if people are buying a set of eBay they probably know in the back of there mind where they came from...

I think quite a few people (from the North West anyway) get them fron Khan in Bradford, as a lot of CGT owners go there for aftermarket wheels.

Whilst you're all arguing about the definition of 'decent' might I point out one other important part of the title...

Looks st clearly has a low IQ if the owner thinks that looks anything other than pathetic.Bentley wheels and a white audi badge. Hell why not go the whole hog and get the illuminated audi badges. If you are going to utterly tasteless may as well go the whole hog.

Why would you ruin a perfectly good car in this way.

This thread is going downhill fast. Some shockingly bad illegal tyred VW`s and a couple of close to standard spec cars that should be in the Readers Cars section.

I thought this was reserved for seriously well modified cars rather than some alloys on an VW.

I have to say that the whole oversized wheels/super thin tyres/lowered suspension thing really isn't my idea of 'decently' modified but that's just MY idea. It's simply too, er, MAX Power.

I do, however, like the XJ220 van/Yank muscle car stuff very much.

Don't know what others think...

Now it's got to 238 pages I don't think you can say it's going down hill, I rarely post on here but browse the thread when it reappears in my bookmarks, there are peaks and troughs for me. But then other peoples peaks and troughs are no doubt different from mine.

I dont mind the VW/Audi stuff but cant really see the point myself as i am more into performance enhancment rather than head turning looks. To me "decently modified" is something that has been made to work better followed by maybe looking better but does not need to look different to qualify.

I would class my own car as "decently modified" but im unsure if others would class it as such?? I did post it long long ago when the thread began but didnt get any feedback, positive or negative??

I don't understand all the hate for the Dub scene. It's not for me, but surely it is better than all stick on plastic crap that used to get snotted all over small hatchbacks?

I like the look of this s2000:

Is this a picture taken on a really long exposure, with someone running around with a torch?
