Why does it have such an ugly out of place front bumper? Is it hiding an intercooler? Would look a thousand times better with a normal 500 front end.

Abarth bumper, and it's a 600.

Erm, no. paperbag

I'm sure it can be done for less though surely?

Personally, I'm just not a fan of fitting cars with engines from other manufacturers. If I wanted a V8 BMW, I'd use an, em, er BMW V8?

There's no denying those old Yank lumps are relatively cheap and effective though.
There's not so old either. The LS1 was a clean sheet design in 1997. And at the end of the day, any 3xxi isn't really a spacial limited edition rare car. So if you like the car and want a faster one, this is certainly one option.

I'm no expert on BMW V8's, but the 4.4 produced around 280hp in stock tune I think. It's also probably heavier, longer, taller, wider and with a worse centre of gravity than the LS1. It's also down 40-60hp in standard tune, makes a lot less torque, isn't as tunable and would cost a lot more to modify.

I'm not saying using one couldn't be good. Morgan seem to use it to good affect in the Aero 8. But I think it'd not bring any advantages over a LS1 and a fair few disadvantages.
Interesting question there 300. Why dont Morgan use the LSx?
Because our mate 300 clearly knows far better than Morgan. Good grief man - how could you doubt such an intellect, finely-honed through many thousands of hours of droning on internet forums.

Awesome, love that.

Not sure if the wheels are my thing, I'd prefer something more period on that, but it's such a personal thing.

Could be because they primarily sell in Europe where people are snobbish about pushrods.
Plus the reasons already stated.

Why do you think the LS is worse than the BMW V8 by the way?

I would also be quite interested too..
Just because its massively more complicated than an LS doesnt make it right.
So GM know less than Morgan?

wonder how many big horsepower drag cars or tack cars there are fitted with an LS V8 over a BMW V8?

Needs to be raised an inch or an inch and a half and could afford to lose the sticker in the rear window but otherwise very nice. I love the Spoon look of a yellow or white Civic with a carbon fibre bonnet, great colour contrast.
I saw this car at Trax last year, it looks even better in the flesh. Just nice and simple.
