Is it me or does that a standard 458 with different wheels?
It is. And it's been decently modified by doing so.

Yep, now we're talking, that looks like it means business on those.
How it should be, the vast majority of American cars (particularly the muscle and pony type cars) look awful with large wheels and skinny tyres, some cars can pull it off, but they look out of place on this type of car.

They're either WAY bigger wheels or they've sawn an inch out of the suspension...

Dont Universal studios put a little plaque type thing in cars used from films for authenticity?

Don't think so. Plus I'm sure that car was built by a muscle car magazine as a project car and Universal ended up asking to use it in the film.

looks very similar to me, wheels look the same, cage looks the same, decals look the same, only things missing the netting and the front splitter type thing.

If you read the text it says it's a Replica of the Hot Rod magazine car. it has a 350 hp 350 sbc and the real one had a 406 twin turbo making 1540 hp and 1527 lbs of torque.

Here you go.

Interesting question there 300. Why dont Morgan use the LSx?
No idea, I would think it's a complex question with an even more complex answer. But cost, availability, other resources (ECU/gearbox/drivetrain), support, TUV and previous/future deals on items might well be reasons.

There may also be a business decision that having a German engine was a good marketing point or something.

Yum!!!! thumbup
Amazing job - No idea how he will keep traction once on boost!
Awesome, love that.

Not sure if the wheels are my thing, I'd prefer something more period on that, but it's such a personal thing.
Seriously cool. I'd have it on polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels, otherwise, perfect.

I'm no expert on BMW V8's, but the 4.4 produced around 280hp in stock tune I think. It's also probably heavier, longer, taller, wider and with a worse centre of gravity than the LS1. It's also down 40-60hp in standard tune, makes a lot less torque, isn't as tunable and would cost a lot more to modify.

I'm not saying using one couldn't be good. Morgan seem to use it to good affect in the Aero 8. But I think it'd not bring any advantages over a LS1 and a fair few disadvantages.
Which BMW V8 though?

The one used in the Morgan and previous 645 was about 360bhp.
The M3 unit is over 400.
I think they're talking about the 4.4 from the 2000-ish 5 series, 7 series and X5.
That was the one I was referring to, as a privateer modder that's the one that is available and affordable. You've have to a real special kind of special to want to buy an e46 then fork out for a current e90 V8 engine and pay to fit it, why not just buy an e90 M3?

The could be selling the space shuttle, but I refuse to take any person seriously that do this:

BMW M5 5.0 SMG 2005MY M5 LUMMA WIDE M6 M3 RS4 FERRARI RS R32 GTR

To sell the love child of a M5 and MB black edition.

The matt wrap looks wrong to.

What is under the wide body kit?

Are the wheels on spacers to fill the arches or is there extensive modifications to accurately increase the track and maintain geometry?

Because you prefer the E46? Because you want something different?
