1st-3rd gear might be torque limited?

300bhp via the front wheels, no thanks. Make it 4X4 like the old Cosworths and it might work. Ford have lost the plot, or maybe never had it. The Focus is still dog ugly.

A Focus isn't what i'd call a big car, how on earth do you know the weight of the car?! It clearly states some features may change. Makes an interesting read for me and look forward to seeing the car i would have got had it been releases two years ago!
I presume he is basing it on the size of and weight of the std models.

The Focus ST seems to do pretty well?

"The RS features a more powerful version of the Duratec 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine found in the ST but it has unique camshafts, a revised cylinder head and gasket and revised intake and exhaust manifold system for the car."

So a bit more than the remap that some ST owners were claiming they have done to their cars and could have done with this onewink

If they do the usual Ford trick of releasing one-colour editions (Racing Puma, Focus RS both in that lovely blue), then is this green going to be the RS's colour? I may sound boring, but it's a bit too garish for me!

Imperial (or Ford Racing) blue, or white would have been a much nicer choice!!!

It would in the lower gears....But you won't be given 300BHP in the low gears.wink
Precisely. Don't get me wrong, big power is good. But why not have a system that can employ it all...?
Did you read the article?

I don't think they will limit it to that green! Performance blue, white or black would look VERY nice IMO.

Big thumbs up from me - much more agressive looking than the ST, and even the previous generation RS.

I even quite like the Green boxedin (certainly more than the Orange available in the ST!)

Don't be silly... it's far better to have a blinkered view on high output FWD cars and *know* that it's not going to be any good and torque steer off the road.

After all, the armchair engineers on this site know a damn sight more about cars than some of the world's best engineers.

lol, too true. Vauxhall take note of this statement :-

"We are refining all the handling characteristics of Focus RS without ESP, to hone its natural responses, rather than use ESP to help its handling. In Focus RS, ESP is a pure safety device"

I think majority of people with some knowledge of power output will realise that 300bhp (or thereabouts in torque) won't be quite as controllable through the front wheels as Ford are making out in the article...

Have YOU driven it..?

My point is that people are very happy to malign things of which they have no personal experience and tout it as fact.

Except they never kept the blue on the RS limited frown

Ford Racing Blue and Imperial Blue are one and the same frown

(Well, according to my paint codes)

I'm liking that a lot. Think I prefer the green to the orange on the ST as well.
