Looks spot on proportion wise to me.

ETA: That back end is a bit Z4 Coupe-esq.

I joined this site 5yrs ago because I wanted to buy a Cerbera, so please don't misjudge my passion when I say I am thouroughly "nothing" about this.

They can do as many press / limited previews as they wish, but unless there has been significant change in production processes, materials and management then I can't see what has changed. Certainly it's not the shape of the "new" Sagaris.

TVR alienated a lot of it's customers in the last few years of trading and I can't see there is much market available to them that it hasn't let down, or will be aware of their former shortcomings (America not withstanding).

It would be amazing if the cars turned in to what they always could (and should) have been, and if it happens I will be first on the list to buy one - but for now, I think they really need to take a close look at their branding, and what the TVR name currently says to it's potential customers.
I think you've hit the nail on the head there- pretty much echoes my sentiments exactly (also an ex TVR owner, and never again). Also, judging by the photos it just seems like they've dug various bits out of the parts bin and thrown them together- and also thought they liked the look of the RS4/F430 type steering wheel, so plonked that on there too.

Don't get me wrong- I'd love it if TVR managed to turn it all around, I just think it's highly unlikely.

Glad to see some chance of a return.

Not liking the wheels (including the steering one) which look too Halfords for my liking.

Like the interior.

What I hope is they have kept the TVR good points (lots of power, good handling, light, great noise), and upped the quality, reliability, and added ABS, Traction control (with option to turn off).

Now if they could get all of that right, and keep it to say <or=40k, they might have a winner on their hands.

Is it just me who hates that interior? What happened to the TVR flair? Can't we have some colour or something, it would feel like driving around inside a wheely bin.

Wheels look too big to me and the improvements in ride and handling seem to have been done by increasing the ride height a fair bit.

yes

Presumably the leather is put together in Russia, Hungary or Elbonia now, with design being done by accountants rather than engineers and stylists.

Doesn't look like they could afford 27p to open the wing gills and put a deflector panel / chicken mesh in either.

Still, it is a new TVR, and for that I am thankful.

Looks pretty much like this one to me, maybe the interior is different but exterior wise it looks bang on. As a TVR owner and prospective buyer of anything new i'd love to see them back making cars again, but it will take more than a few press releases and a sneaky peak session. At least it's got this far though and hopefully some fruit will come to bare.

Still holding on with an open mind.

Surely none of us would care one little bit about the steering wheel or sat-nav thingy so long as it drove well, was reliable and started bring the TVR name back to where all think it should be?

You can't re-register an older car on a new plate though.

The Sagaris was always a fabulous looking car, and the 'improvements' made here allow the spirit of the original to remain - fabulous stuff.

I was, however, devestated to read that it will be keeping the Speed 6 engine. Such a shame after all the reported problems - think we all know that if TVR want to relaunch afresh it should listen to its experienced customer base and start with a different, proven six or v8.

Bringing back old S6 skeletons in the closet for a relaunch is perhaps not the best way forward, and with regret it is for that reason that I would not consider a purchase. Having said that, it is good to hear some positive news at last!!

DVLA reckon it is a new car, manufactured 2008 and reg'd 9th July which was Wednesday. Strangely enough they've got no CO2 emissions details so it is £185 a year to tax confused

I'd have thought the car would still be type approved from last time it was made so they'd have emissions on file for it.

TVRs are in limited production numbers so it gets away with it

What price point is it aimed at? IMO one of the problems TVR had was it priced itself out of the market.

It's a shame to keep harping on about it but TVR ceased trading for a reason, and so I hope they don't think that a nice press launch and a sexy static car (which TVRs have always been) will not reignite failings that could potentially still be there.

Good to see TVR (sort of), back. The interior needs some tweeking, but good to see no airbags!
No airbags would make it a non-starter in America. They're required by law over here. So is a lot of other safety kit which I doubt TVR have the resources to provide. I seriously doubt TVR could even supply the five or so cars required for NHTSA's (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) crash tests which need to be done before the car can be certified for sale in the United States.

Cheers,

The i6 wouldnt get it into US showrooms anyhow would it? Or would the volumes be too low (as in car numbers not exhaust note...)

Nice to see them back, shame its not doing what they were good at.
