Current one is limited for both gearbox torque limit and emmisions. Specifically only the econetic 1.6 110PS gets under the £35 120g/km bracket in either Peugeots or Fords, the 110PS in the next bracket. That ans insrance means you get 90PS
Interesting point, how does the current 1.6 compare for torque to the old 1.8 TDCi, which must have used the same 5 speed gearbox. The power was the key spec item that disappointed me with the current car, especially when for a grand less the Skoda had 130 bhp.niva441 said:

IIRC, the fiesta has the smaller IB5 gearbox the focus has a larger MTX75. Size was the issue with fitment of an alternative box.
And of course remembering this is Ford, Cost. Thinking back to my Zetec TDCi test drive I didn't need to lift the detent collar to engage reverse. I'm surprised the old 5 speed box can handle modern diesel torque as the old RS Turbo pushed its limits.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
