Ford Ka, heater not working. Any ideas?

The failure mode is interesting, there is a little solenoid that pushes and pulls a plunger, where the rod joining the plunger to te solenoid exits the chamber with the hot water in it passes thruogh a little seal. Guess what? the seal goes and water leaks into the solenoid and the assemble stops working.

Rubbish design.
