RE: 1040bhp Rolls

I really like this> it does have small Boyd Coddington type looks, but im not sure if this is something they would do. They seem to be more about total re-fabrication, which by the looks of this, wasn't the case, as its only really the interior and engine that have had a major overhaul. Mind you, from the higher res photos, it does look like its parked outside a US garage...
Still looks really good though.

I interviewed Jools Holland ( for a fanzine ) once and he said that they spent all the money channel 4 gave them on buying the car and doing the roof chop. The windscreen broke as the tried to put it back but as they had no money they had to leave it. The only other changes they made were to the wheels which were off a land rover.

Nice(ish)!
Think I would rather a Q-car version though
Yep me too.Think I would rather a Q-car version though
Stick it back on standard height suspension, loose the intake through the bonnet and turn it back to being a little more normal and it would make a brilliant street-sleeper. What could be better than a Roller that handles, goes like a scolded cat and sounds the mutts nuts....?
Might not be to everyones taste, but I suspect you would get many more admiring glances than that lump of I-have-got-more-money-than-you bling....
Love it!I do hope they have uprated the brakes, the shadow ones arent the best even with the standard engine.
Reminds me of "The Beast" from the 70's.That car was powered by a 1200bhp plus 27000cc merlin engine and had(until Rolls took legal action)a Rolls-Royce radiator grille on the front.Have a look here,

The steering wheel design did it for me... Plus the fact that its outside an american workshop!Still looks really good though.
I dunno, they did a few restorations on that 'American Hotrod' program, although that was a few years ago before Boyd passed on... not sure what their direction is now

Disgrateful act ditching the original Rolls V8. They are predominently used in top fuel events as a drag motor due to the strength of its over-engineered block.
Er... what?!SS HSV said:
Yes the Rolls V8 is renowned for its bottom end strength.
O/T I would love to do a classic Mini Van too after seeing my mates V12 5.3 Jag conversion. It was rear mounted with no propshaft, the eng of the gearbox joined straight onto the diff and it had Jag IRS on custom fabricated mounts. It also featured a perspex rear window behind the front seats where you could see the pulleys and they were about an inch from your head
Sadly it was stolen and then written off before it was completely finished

Scene from Thunderbirds. In Lady Penelope's Mansion
(Intercom rings in Chauffer's quarters)
Lady P: Parker?
Parker: Yus M'Lady
Lady P: Parker I need to get to the airport to meet Geoff & the Thunderbird boys. Get the Rolls out please.
Parker: Yus M'Lady, which one?
Lady P: Which one Parker? I thought I only had one!
Parker: No M'Lady- two. There's the daft 4 wheel steer muff-coloured one and then there's the Silver 1040 BHP Motherf...r of a Roller that scares the fertiliser out o' me.
Lady P: Geoff's plane landed 10 minutes ago-you decide.
Parker: Very good M'Lady. That'll be the silver baby then.
Lady P: Very well Parker. Oh & Parker- pack your change of underwear.
Parker: Yus M'Lady
(Parker disappears into his underwear drawer simultaneously getting excited and filling his pants already)
Camera pans away to garage with Silver RR panting heavily alongside the muff jobbie.
