I can understand the guy who makes his cooking 911 look like an ultra rare 911 RS.

I can almost understand the guy who likes doing a bit of car maintenance and has a rusty old pontiac/mr2 spending a few quid and many hrs in the garrage to make it look like an approximation of the car of his dreams which he could never afford.

I cant understand the guy who has a perfectly good Porsche spending LOTS of money on it to make it look a little bit like the bd child of a pricy Porker and a pick up truck.

Irritating thing is, there's clearly talent out there for building and finishing cars.

Question is, why is there no originality? If someone had turned their Boxster into a self-designed one-off with unique bodywork, then as long as it was good looking we'd be queueing up to praise them.

This on the other hand is like a fake Rolex based on a half-decent Citizen.

Ignoring the obvious point that the car is hideous the actual point that the article makes at the start is one that has always annoyed me slightly.

Why do people say a Boxster is a "poor" mans 911 when everyone knows that they are a very accomplished car in their own right. Its just like saying I only got a 911 C4 as I couldn't afford a turbo, or I only got a turbo because I couldn't afford a GT2!

Stating the bleeding obvious or what! If I could afford a bloomin Carerra GT of course I wouldn't buy a Boxster! - (nor would I do what this guy did but thats not the point lol)

I've only got a house with 2 bedrooms as I couldn't afford one with 10! I live in a poor mans house

That's scary. Like someone else said, if they have this much "talent" why dont they come up with something really original, maybe something like the Reventon...something that really turns heads the right way.
