Ahhh. You have an Elsie on your profile. Wonderful car. I've test driven a few and, whilst not for me, it explains why you were dissappointed. If you are used the razor sharpness of the Elise...and can put up with its limitations...there isn't going to be anything that drives as cleanly...IMO anyway.I quite like the way the 993 and earlier 911s drive - they at least had character, even if they were rather flawed. The 996 and 997 just seem so sterile.

1) being able to get in and out of a car
2) not being deafend on motorways
3) not being broiled when its over 20 dec C
4) not getting high from the smell of glue
5) not having to spend 20 mins flapping about with bows and arrows and a bit of fabric when it starts to rain
6) being able to carry a suitcase.
7) offering a lift to over 50s
8) getting further than 200 miles on a tank of fuel
9) not having to have the front end resprayed after each motorway jounery
10) having a head gasket that lasts more than 30k miles
11) not having to have shock absorbers changed 3 times to stop clonking
........for the steering feel imparted by an Elise
