That sounds pretty harsh! It's quite possible mr dxb busted his balls to be able to afford it and fair play to him if so. I got my VX220 at 25 and my Monaro at 27 by sacrifice and bloody hard work.

It strikes me as unfair if people are attacked simply because they appear to be too young for what they drive.

I would take the car, but wouldn't tell everyone I'd bought it off my dad. My folks got me a Mk1 Fiesta with a button on the floor for the screenwash

I've always thought this guy had a bit of a hard time on here, but reading the thread on the BM forum he just seems like a spoilt brat.

I have a 21 year old friend who earns over £40,000 per year and he left school at 15. He's a carpenter.

Well yeah he gets taxed but still he's on a bloody good wage for his age. He's self employed so he gets a lot of tax/expenses back. He works bloody hard and is one of the most genuinely nice guys I know.

Me too - Like I said, I was never given owt and worked bloody hard to get where I am.... its just you came across as envious with the comments about him being given the car, or 'purchasing' it - along with the rolleyes...For all we know he *might* have worked his butt off - don't get me wrong, the constant references to the car mark him out as a bit of a tool, but like I say, I think if I were given a car at that age I'd have difficulty saying no..What I wouldn't do is bang on about it as being the car equivalent of the second coming but maybe that's a part of growing up eh ?

Yeah - its good fun, the police ride round on KTM's though - they ARE gorgeous...One day when I move back to the Uk and do my DAS, their showroom will be my first stop.
