Why is everyone talking about the bloody 335d?

Hey, it's simply Newtonian. For every action there is an equal and opposite fkING HILARIOUS OWNING.

Yep, unfortunately t'internet isn't a very forgiving place. Especially if you choose to do and say the same things over and over again on more than one forum. Which is what has happened here.HTH
It's a shame people had to get themselves binned in this thread though.

I wonder what BMW`s marketing department would make of this?
They've been on to it for ages! Look they even swapped out the M5 engine for a 335d (mapped) one and used it for advertising

WTF does a 24 yr old do to have 40k+ to blow on a car?
That sounds pretty harsh! It's quite possible mr dxb busted his balls to be able to afford it and fair play to him if so. I got my VX220 at 25 and my Monaro at 27 by sacrifice and bloody hard work.It strikes me as unfair if people are attacked simply because they appear to be too young for what they drive.

Completely incidental but your examples aren't that out of the ordinary and neither are a £40k+ touch.

I like the 335d, and i think its great to see someone so fond and attached to there car, yes there are alot of better ones for the money,
but theres no denying that it will piss over most of the cars in here!
rocky is DXB's mate and I claim my 5 sterlingsbut theres no denying that it will piss over most of the cars in here!
this was not about the 335d it was more about how NOT to go round the internet trying to big up your crap car, especially on a site where exotic would be maclarens and carrera GT's, this is not the local cruise forum!

Well I for one think enough is enough.
This thread and the other snide 335d remarks on here are nothing short of pathetic playground bullying, yes I made a (mapped) comment but to be quite frank I don't want to be part of this it has gone too far.
I know that if these comments were about the MG Midget and directely aimed at me, I wouldn't find it funny, yes a couple of comments fair enough I can take a joke but I can't be doing with just picking on someone (and someones car) just for the sake of it.
This thread and other threads have got completely out of order, it reflects badly on PH in my opinion, which is rather sad.
I for one have met dxb335d, he is genuine and a nice person, yes he is rather enthusiastic about his car, so am I about mine, what is wrong with that? We are meant to be enthusiasts of all types of car on this site there is no prerequisite for joining Pistonheads and in general that is what makes it such a good site, meets are nice and varied as to what cars turn up in our own Midlands meets we have everything from Classics to Supercars to Daily Drivers everyone is treated the same.
Everyone moans about PH "not being like it used to be" I for one agree, due to the amount of playground bullying going on.

I've no idea what was in the now removed videos (Anyone?) but dont you think it's going a tad far?
He's ridiculously over-enthusiastic about his car, which, yes, is both annoying and hugely funny at the same time but thats all he is at the end of the day.
Have we not all been a bit guilty of being over enthusiastic about something we feel strongly about in the past?
Ok, he made his bed and all that but even so..
+1 - thankyou Foxy ! Finally some support for the 'Carlos is actually ok' Camp !!He's ridiculously over-enthusiastic about his car, which, yes, is both annoying and hugely funny at the same time but thats all he is at the end of the day.

Ahhh, the olden days, when everyone was nice and enthusiastic about him: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Glad some people are beginning to see this is well OTT.
Well as I stated above, I had a genuine question - which was followed by some light hearted banter.I don't want to see it get locked and binned, like lots of topics seem to be. It stayed clean for 20 pages at least.

Yesterday I was crying with laughter (all day as it happens) over this thread, but it seems to have run its course.
For now, it's open for business, but a lock is imminent if it becomes insulting.

"ENGAGE..."
Which at the time yesterday, is quite possibly one of the funniest things I've ever seen on here.
