Nah, that's a showroom he's got, not a garage.
What a daft thing to say.

It looked like a steel and glass box, with a line of cars down one side, a room with a sofa and a desk in the middle, and a single car displayed on the other side.

So pretty much the same layout as the BMW dealer's showroom up the road from me.

One Snap-On tool box does not a garage make.

So it's hardly "a daft thing to say", is it?

To be fair, I've never been in a garage where you have to take your shoes off at the door!!

So what qualifies as a garage?? Surely its simply a building with a car in it

exactly, it was a bit tight for space as well, with the value of the cars in there, you'd have thought he would have put another 4 or 5 feet on the width so you could at least walk all the way around the cars without worrying about scratching them.

Anyone else notice the big black mark on the back wall nicely aligned with the exhaust on the 288GTO?

I'd say there is a difference between a storage garage and working garage, but it is a fine line. Part of it comes down to finance. An immaculate, gleaming, Snap-On bejewelled garage may look like a showroom, but it may be worked in every day. Or it may simply be a show case for cars.

Local people think my garage is a house, they can't believe anybody would have a garage 8m x 6m, with a built in bog as well. Even the local City Hall inspectors think I'm a wierdo..... biggrin

Time to post mine up I think………

This is a before shot, two metal prefab singles.

They did the job for a couple of years, but got very cold in winter and were like a hot box in summer.

There they were gone!!!

My dream garage build begins…….

Much better with a roof on eh?

Saw this being built had no idea was so big.. seen the Mustang before its very nice. I live just off bell lane so just up road.

My neighbours think I'm mad , you should see the looks I get when they catch me hoovering the floor smilesmilesmile

That and the central heating rads, skirting boards and TV etc

But I would call my garage a workshop as its not just for parking cars but working on them

that's looking nice, where are your paint stirring sticks and old bits of metal and wood that you may need in the future?

Yay an ATC 70!

I had one from new as a kid until it got stolen from my parents garage. Looks in very good nick too!

Great times hacking around the fields on it.

Plus that awkward pile of crap you have built up over the course of owning several different cars?

I had 1 when I was a youngster too smile very hard to find them now in good condition, I was lucky to find this one a few years ago after a long search, bought it for £350 off a chap who probably didnt realise the true value

I have been following this thread from not long after it started as a lurker and thought it's about time that I shared my small temporary garage at the moment. Can't wait to move and find a large garage so that I can work in not such a cramped manner.

And that corner provides me with space for tools, a workbench and some storage. Just wish I could keep it a bit tidier!

And what hides within
