Thanks! And thank you for the welcome to PistonHeads.
I didn't know I'd been included 33 pages back. This is a pretty large thread. Some great shops here.
While you're here I have some questions about your tiled floor. Do you ever use a trolley jack or axle stands (maybe not with the lift)? I just wonder if the tiles would stand up to it... Also, do you have any problems with them getting slippery?I didn't know I'd been included 33 pages back. This is a pretty large thread. Some great shops here.
Currently I'm torn between ceramic tiles and racedeck.

Right back to garages (from aeroplanes) - what do you chaps do with your car magazines? Chuck them away? Me, I keep certain ones, in particular Motorsport and Octane where I have been subscriber for years. My wife has me keep them in the garage because they take up a lot of space - fair do's I suppose? Guess I could make a feature of them on a set of shelves...
I really like those Costco cabinets they're just what I've been looking for to sort out my 'man cave' bit cheeky to ask but do you recall what sort of money they wereThis is my garage which I built a few years back as the property when brought only had a pair of very small and useless concrete pre-fabs, so I built a 25x25 which although originally very pleased with has been somewhat used and abused over the past 3 years and I now want togive a refresh and refit to, so its a bit more 'man cave' and a place to espace to.
This is as we started once the pre-fabs were removed
Footings going in
Start of the shell going up
Full shell up
Roof starts coming together
Roof finished
Front view with timber cladding
Flooring and windows
Lick of paint
Nearly finished
All of which took me from start to finish about 12 months working on my tod, roping in pals when needed and saving up in between for the next stage of the build.

As said that was the original build a couple of years ago which now needs a refresh, up until last weekend it looked like this:
But it's now empty of projects (for 5 mins), so what I want to do now is repaint and a decent flooring, add some wall cabinets and additional benches and metal cabinets, any suggestions on floor layout and how to best utilise the space will be most welcome.

Go with Porcelain tiles, not ceramic.Currently I'm torn between ceramic tiles and racedeck.
I have recently fitted them and since have used trolley jacks and engine hoists and had no problems.
I was feeling quite pleased with myself for having a bit of a sort out and putting a cheap Wickes kitchen wall unit up to store some of my stuff in...then you guys are talking about tiling your garages. At least it gives me inspiration for when I've finished making a ton of dust in their while welding/grinding my car.
I have ceramic tile. It was inexpensive -- I'm not sure what 59 cents per square foot works out to with square meters and your exotic currencies, but it was cheap. Porcelain is even stronger. But I've had no problem with jacks, jack stands, or anything else.
In most ways, the tile is stronger than the concrete it's sitting on. Here's a clip that has me hitting it with a 4-lb sledge hammer:

It is not slippery or brittle the way bathroom tiles are. I haven't had any kind of oil or solvent leave a mark on it. Old, dried, oil-base paint comes right off of it with a razor blade. It's a pretty great garage floor surface.
My concrete had been poured in 1925, and was not in very good shape. I used some patching concrete, but I did not go to the trouble of making the floor completely flat.
