Nearly finished, should have the roof done tomorrow then its just front roller door & fitting out inside. First time the Jeep has had a house smile

That looks like it is a decent size.

Thank you. You should have come and said hi, I was on the club stand if I'm guessing right wink
You are. And I was planning to, but there was no-one about when came by. Big old show this year!

6m x 7m approx, 2.1m to eves, with high clearance trusses so 2.9m high inside where the jeep is. Will post more pictures as we finish the inside

I'm going for similar. 6m x 8m. Just waiting for the builder to provide the quote... can't wait!

Looks great. A question if I may. It appears wide enough to be a Double. Is that possible if so why limit it to single?

Benches tool and storage down the sides?

Sizes mean nothing to me as I've never measured a garage smile

Thanks.

Ah the single/double garage thing, my pet hate, garages in the UK are built far too small. I see the garage I just built as a single garage. Jeep goes in, I can open all the doors & have decent walking/working space around it still & have a workbench down the side. Argued with the planners over it, they said why do I want a double garage when I can only get 1 car up the drive to it, they wouldn't have it it is a single car garage, tossers.

have I got this right... the planners said you cant have a double garage... so you built one, but put a single door in it?

They were being pedantic over the wording for my application as it was titled as a single garage & they were expecting a 2mx4m shoe box. It took 6 months start to finish going through the planning process, very much an eye opener.

I like it - but the offset door to roof arrangement is making my teeth itch. Also what is the window for ? Wouldn't it be better as doorway ?

Form follows function, perhaps there's a working area behind it.

My office desk will be behind it, door is offset to make best use of floorspace as full length workbench down the right side. Pedestrian door is on the right too

I'm with yu my garage is useless.

Just thought double doors but only park one car in. You still have the room but more flexibility.

Anyway it looks fab and is 100 times better than mine.

I've got loads of jobs I need to do on mine. If I had space down the side to work I could do them over winter frown

To have a decent garage I believe you need an anti woman trap all round it.

I have a 12 X 7 meter shed, with a roller door on one side only. It is supposed to be able to take 2 cars on that side, one under repair up front, & one parked, with plenty of work space on the other.

Over the years the work side gathered lounges, beds, wardrobes, boating & equestrian gear, plus boxes full of god only knows what. All this stuff is my ladies or kids stuff. It is I'm assured, too good to throw out, but none has come out for reuse in the last 10 years.

Can anyone please advise me, what is the length of time of storage required before things too good to throw out become junk I may be allowed to throw out. Surely there is a statute of limitations in this stuff.

I'm on with building a fence around my house at the minute. Once that's up, I'll be building a shed. That's where all her ste is going. A lot of it is up in the attic at the minute. I've done quite well with non-car stuff in the garage, but there's still the odd bit of garden tools that have crept in.
Can't wait to get that shed built!
Also, regarding your last point. My Dad operates a 12 month rule. If it hasn't been used for 12 months, he hides it in the second part of his loft that Mum doesn't know about. Then if it goes unnoticed for a further 6 months, it gets thrown out!

She'll fill the shed and then start again on the garage.

You really need to nip this in the bud when it starts...once it accumulates, you're doooooomed!

Because I have more than one car which I want to garage and there's only one of me to drive them up the drive at any one time! wink

That was the most important rule of my garage - the OH can't put anything in there, so far it is working well.
