I took a timelapse of my garage being built last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA7Kcgq_pxU&lis...

Gets used constantly but ran out of money to do the inside. That's this winter's project.
Very nice! Quite similar to mine although I couldnt have such a high roof on mine, and I went for automatic doors as a)I am lazy, and b) I need to get in quickly to get out of the way of the traffic in the lane!

I bet that garage is more than I could afford for a house! Lol.
What do you do for a living?

After a lot of research and with a wife imposed budget, I found these to be the best value.

http://www.horsematshop.co.uk/210-the-stud-tile-50...

To be fair I found porcelain tiles at about the same cost per square metre, but because the original part of the garage had such an uneven floor I would have had to put down a self leveling compound on the entire 30m sq. This with the cost of tile adhesive and grout etc would have added another £200+.

The tiles I used went down in a day, are really easy to cut with a stanley knife and look good. I would have prefered another colour but coloured ones are double the cost. The black ones are made from recyled material and therefore the colour throughout is slightly inconsistant. Tiles, ramp edging for the enterance and delivery came to £318.

Ironically the retaining walls cost more than the garage!

Lovely looking garage. I'm thinking of fitting electric door openers to one of the bays to make getting the one car that is running in and out more easily.

Garage question for you knowledgeable folks:

I have a Cardale Maximiser door with remote, which works perfectly fine, but I don't have a key for it, even though it has a key slot in the handle. Like this:

Whilst the remote works, all is fine. But what if the remote failed, or there was a power cut, I can't get in the garage!! The previous owner said he never had a key (whether I believe him is a moot point, I still don't have the key).

Should I have a key? Can I get one? (eg. using a serial number?). I don't have a manual or anything, just 2 remotes. Thanks.

Not sure if this has been posted before but there is a nice "man" house on Frank Knight at the moment which has

cinema
indoor swimming pool
bar
Table tennis and American pool, table footbal and arcade room
Shooting range shoot (in the house of course so you don't get wet).
Helipad
Tennis court
Squash court because everyone has a tennis court.

So given all this, what's his garage like? Worthy of on here, or falls at the last hurdle?

scroll through the pictures and be the judge

Worthy or not worthy?

Look at that sunset !

That is a fantastic property with a garage most could only dream off, stocked with cars that most could only dream off.

Do you think they would consider an offer £6.5m under asking?

laugh

Just an epic house in every way. It's incredible. What a place to live. I could quite happily just live in that garage without ever going outside.

Apart from to use the games room, the pool, the shooting range etc etc.

One thing bugs me - why, when you have such a beautiful home, would you choose to sell it & move?

Each to their own but that is a chavtastic monstrosiy of a McMansion with zero architectural merit.

And looking on google maps satellite view, the diggers are still on the ground, so they must have only just finished building recently. Wonder what happened?

9 hole golf course too. Just incredible. I have my list of 'lottery cars'. That would certainly be the 'lottery house'.

Not entirely accurate, the Google earth image on my house is around 6/7 years old, granted that's a short period of time for such an outlay.

presumably it is a spec development! it certainly looks a bit 'box tickey' to me. It doesn't look lived in.
