Yep, plan on those other than knocking out the pillar..
Other than cost, why would you not want to knock out the central pillar?
Just cost really. Also, the builder my not be impressed as they like to have them all matching when they are still constructing.

Sell your garage doors back to the builders. It will ease the cost implications

Not sure if this has been posted before but there is a nice "man" house on Frank Knight at the moment which has

cinema
indoor swimming pool
bar
Table tennis and American pool, table footbal and arcade room
Shooting range shoot (in the house of course so you don't get wet).
Helipad
Tennis court
Squash court because everyone has a tennis court.

So given all this, what's his garage like? Worthy of on here, or falls at the last hurdle?

scroll through the pictures and be the judge

Worthy or not worthy?

Look at that sunset !
Nice ??

Tacky as hell, too american. Taste is not for sale...etc.etc.

Here's my garage then, not a patch on the stunning work on here.
In the right corner is a small one man office with computer etc and a stack shelf full to the brim with motoring books.
It's a working progress as I'm renovating the house too, currently fitting her desired kitchen, the house is a never ending money pit but will be worth it when it's finished.
As you'd expect I got the garage sorted as best before anything else, it wasn't a case of SWMBO, so much so I put her to work painting the floor stripe before I sorted where we were going to sleep!biggrin

That's better, really like the idea of a small office for the car books and magazines!

Greg - The refresh looks really good! Is that an electric car charger I spy between the doors?
It is, i've got a BMW i3 for the commute.
Cool! I was looking at getting one of the free chargers, but more for future proofing.
Indeed, I'm getting them installed in all my properties, the subsidies won't last forever

Mine is about half way there, floor and walls to finish off.

Not very exciting compared to most on here.

Finally got around to properly sorting our garage today since moving in last September.

Our GT is in for a pre-Holland / SCARB service so figured today would be a good day.

Pleased with the results. A place for everything & everything in its place.

Before

After

It's a 7x7 meter garage. It's dry & secure as linked to the main house alarm and dehumidified.

Future plans are decent click together flooring & getting the walls painted white.

Some more car related wall art too.

Cheers,

Simon

^^^^^ Nice. Well organised. Hooks... that's what I need. I've got things like snow shovels, ladders etc just leaning against the walls, taking up valuable floor space. I've got the floor and walls painted, and now need to get organised in there!

Sad topic I know, but can anyone recommend some good general purpose hooks for this sort of thing? Or just "get yourself down to B&Q (etc), they've got a good selection".

+1. Shows money doesn't buy taste. Dreadful pastiche 'classical' design. Like the garage though biggrin

Just bought my first house, will plaster board the whole garage out, spot lights, tiled floors and kitchen units at the back for storage.
