I don't have the best - but I suspect I have the most garages per bedroom.

I recently bought a 2 bed house with garaging for 7 attached to the house and a further 14 detached.

That's 10.5 car spaces per bedroom - can anyone beat that ?
Photos or it didn't happen smile
A quickie from Google Earth

Just put a new driveway in and centrally-heated the garage. 'Ridiculous' is the correct assessment, kindly provided by my wife.

That's nothing... Updown Court (Google it) in Windlesham, has underfloor heating ON THE DRIVEWAY!

The mind boggles.

I spy, with my little eye, something ending in "15". smile

You do - and beginning with 'XJR'! Just to remind me, they handily painted it on the door.

I'd love to hear how they compare to drive?

The 15 is such a striking car, love it.

Happy to. Both are strongly grounded in Group C of course. But that is where the similarity ends. The XJ220 uses Group C technology and packages into quite a comfortable, effortlessly, brutally fast long distance car. It's quite cumbersome at low speeds, but on the move absolutely brilliant with nice, predictable handling and a gorgeous engine note and the aerodynamics work well.

The '15 is a Group C car with indicators and a horn - and not a lot of downforce! It is the most intimidating car I have ever driven and even now, I get the heebie-jeebies when I fire it up and go for a drive. It is cramped, hot and smells decidedly 'vintage' inside. It also has no syncromesh. The V12 sounds f'ing amazing but there is so much whine from the gearbox that you can barely hear it.

I have spent quite a lot of time and money making the 15 more usable on the road and getting the handling right, but I expect only 1% of people would really enjoy driving it - it is far too extreme.

However, for the 1% of nutters like me, it is one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you can get and a car I will never sell. It handles brilliantly until 8/10ths but can bite very hard if you don't know what you are doing beyond that (and I don't). Acceleration is so fierce that the tyres can barely contain it in any gear. It will do 0-150mph in 13.5 seconds. A McLaren F1 does it in 12.8. XJ220 in 17. F40 in 18. So - it feels in a different league from most 'normal' supercars.

Just remembered that I posted this on EVO when I picked the car up for its inaugural 250 mile drive (in hindsight, not the cleverest thing to do). It's a good summary of my emotions that day...

This is brilliant. The XJ220 is my dream car, having been around them a fair bit when my Dad worked for Jaguar (Coventry) in the 90s. The XJR-15 is a ridiculous "probably only ever admire from a distance" sort of car for me.

I'm not typically a jealous person, but congratulations on getting yourself to a stage in life where you can own those two fantastic cars. Fancy swapping either of them for a 22 year old 5 Series?

Thanks - much appreciated...I set myself a goal in the early nineties to one day own an XJ220, XJR15 and F1. Quite a long way to go before I can claim #3!
