Rule #1 in any garage. If yu drop that washer or screw. You need to be able to see it. And white is better than dark colours for this!

Ah - but sod's first rule of dropped fasteners is that they will bounce nearly infinite distances to find a resting place in which they are undetectable wink
Something I learned many years ago as an apprentice biggrin

When you drop a tool and a car part. Watch where the car part goes!

For those of you with multiple car garages, how do you manage all the wires to the trickle chargers or don't you? Trying to tidy the wires to & from 3 Accumulates laying on the floor and plugged into the walls. I thought about dropping wires down from the roof but that sounds like it would be just as awkward hehe

I've got sockets above every car so any leads hang down

Nice, underfloor heating?
nah, convection heater on the back wall, and a lot of insulation in the walls, ceiling and garage door. It's like a furnace some nights hehe

That has potential. Though make sure your drainage is good otherwise you'll have an indoor pool.

Thanks gents. Potential is a good word for it... Lol.
We already have a mortgage so I don't know if the bank will lend us enough, but I won't find out until we go in with a couple of wage slips and ask!
I don't mind doing a house up as we go. I'm happy to buy somewhere live-able, and have it as a WIP.

Picked this up recently and fitted it to the rear wall. Bonus points if you can name the Discovery series it was commissioned for, oh and a picture of the garage..........

I'm tempted to say that's a great house, ALL garage and two windows - would suit me - but then I realised it's just your garage ... biggrin

Only having a (large) single to work in, the need is great for a double (+)

Is that the actual one from the show? Would be interesting to hear how you got it!

It is the actual one from the show. Discovery commissioned a series of these paintings, covering the E Type, a helicopter and a chopper. There may have been more. When the series finished and the set/garage was retired from being a TV set the paintings were going to be skipped. A friend retrieved the E Type one and had it mounted in his office where it stayed for a number of years. I have a passion for E Type and used to tell him it was really made for me and should be in my garage, eventually he agreed and at Christmas I brought it home. The pic's don't show scale its about 8 foot x 6 foot. I fitted a length of timber to the base to support it and used all the original holes to secure it to the marine ply lined wall of my garage.[url]
It has an upstairs which is used for parts storage with a mezzanine bit where the two poster is.
Below are some pics of the inside with various project cars I have built over the years
