I go the other way!

I'm not so keen on the styling, but everything else is great! It has more than a whiff of chavwagon about it for me. Not something I'd want for £60K. Perhaps I'm just too conservative!

It seems a good size, and has the right sort of engine. They've even made a bit of an effort with the interior.

Why did it have to look like a HondKa?

I saw this car going in the opposite direction a couple of weekends ago whilst in Oxfordshire. My first thoughts were that it was a Spyker.

Looked very nice, and stood out from all the Aston Martin's that seemed to driving about.

There are plenty of Elises around running 330ish bhp from supercharged Honda K20 engines but many of their owners don't seem to end up keeping them very long. I know of some who have switched back to standard Elises and been happier with them; maybe it is possible for a car to be too fast for the public road.
...Hmmmmm. M-mmm nope cant bring myself to accept that idea. wink

It is wastegate chatter not an atmos dump valve. I can tell you for a fact the car does not run a vent to atmos dump valve
I can tell you for a fact that wastegates do not chatter. The compressor blades make a chattering sound when there is no dump valve, as the compressed air has nowhere to go against a closed throttle so it backs up against the compressor blades.

what your refering to is compressor stall, you do get flutter from external wastegates as the diaphram opens and closes etc

If there is not enough of a bend between the dump valve and entry to the air intake then you will here it fluttering as you change gear even if its not a chav stylee vent to atmosphere jobbie. It sounds a lot nicer though

Humph, knew it was too good to be British! Thought it was that Javan R1 thing when i saw it. Apparently that handled like a shopping trolly, though i guess they may have changed it now.

Well really ? That's quite a strange moment to come out of the closet ! wink

I agree though - don't really like the looks of it. And the footwell looks really cramped.

Just read a 5 page review in this months Performance Car called ‘YES Please’ - Looks great in the Snow and some more interesting analogies like “When the Turbo spools forth at around 4200, eyes water, and the cows grazing nearby grow hyperspace trails” – The sound debate goes on!music

It looks like a Ka special edition, but I would still have one.

After reading Ollie’s review and the many positive comments made on PH and in Performance Car magazine we felt that we must say thank you.

We sincerely hope the GB Roadster fits the bill for all who seek a powerful, reliable, and attractive quality open top sports car. A car that is as much a pleasure to own as it is to drive and fills a small gap in a market that many, including us, feel passionate about.

We are very pleased that the comments and reviews suggest the GB Roadster has many of the desirable boxes ticked for a mid engine, rear wheel drive, hand built, high power sports car. We do however realise how important it is to supply this product with the best possible service, high standards and an after sales back up that gives as much peace of mind as is possible. We will only ever be as good as our customer’s say we are and in today’s market, if we believe Mr Darling’s 60 year comments, having any customers should be regarded as a bonus!

Thank you again for your comments and interest – As a real bonus any 2008 orders taken that mention Ollie’s PH review when placing the order will get a trip to the factory and specific fitting for their car for free – Normally £1,000 including accommodation and flights.

Team GBR

clap Excellent post gentlemen from TeamGBR! Nice to see feedback from a manufacturer so promptly & recognising the value of "customer input".
Thanks again on behalf of other PH'ers -not to mention the obvious value in your offer on any 2008 orders.... I'm dashing off now to buy a load of lottery tickets to (try to) place my order.. wink

Looks mad. Probably a little small for my personal preference and I'm not too keen on the rear end, but all that could change if I got to see it and drive it! The figures are excellent.

I know its a bit sad but this sort of thing annoys me slightly on a car forum, why would the wastegate make a noise....why do so many people get this wrong.

I seriously doubt that he is talking about an external wastegate, so the noise will just be the dump valve/diverter valve, whatever you want to call it, you would think as a car journalist you would know this...
The car runs an external wastegate so yes Oli is right
I was wrong, the car runs internal wastegate not external......i'll get my coat now getmecoat
