OK, do you like this new saab?
Discussion
It wasn't really a heated debate.
I tried to advise correctly a one time Saab owner and self proclaimed classic 900 'expert' the error of his beliefs. For my efforts, being accused of living in cloud cuckoo land with suggestions made that I sell rot box Saab's to my customers is worthy of a sharp return.
In other words such comments are not fair game. Especially coming from a Piston Head who professes to be a well respected motoring journalist. That it seems to me is favouritism, otherwise both parties 'offending' posts should have been removed. I don't come here to have my contribution vetted whilst others are favoured despite them posting insults.

FWIW I don't think he meant to imply you sell substandard cars, that's certainly not the impression that I got!
Funny how they seem to vary though - like I say my '90 is in decent nick, but 18 months ago I helped break a '93 and the front of the car fell apart! THe front crossmember was unbelievable rotten and was basically held together with the lights and grille!!! Not sure what happened there, maybe it lived at the coast or something.
I didn't realise you had a 90. Had one in about a year ago. Looked really good on Minilites.
Maybe that 9-3 had been front end repaired somewhere along the line. I've not seen rot like that myself. Usually they're well preserved from leaked steering fluid across that front cross member, lol.

No, I don't believe that was his intention. Just a little smart the way he paraphrased me. I'm more annoyed that I was singled out for punishment by someone.

Sorry, I meant 1990 900 and 1993 900!Maybe that 9-3 had been...
ETA: no danger of my drivers side footwell going rusty with the amount of power steering fluid that's been poured all over it!

Saab concept vehicles need to be put into context. Most all manufacturers build concept cars to show off their design principles and skill set. Saab are at the top of the tree when it comes to concept cars. That their award winning concepts don't make it to production is missing the point a little. If Saab are to be slated for not bringing their concepts to market, why not slate the other manufacturers who also build superb concepts that never see it to production. I don't get it.
Given that Saab do bring to market some pretty neat cars, is not bringing concepts to market a ridiculous reason for criticism of the brand when concept cars they build actually fill the role of what a concept car should be - a concept car then?
