I am sure that there are some bargains to be had at auction, but as tonker et al have highlighted before, add in the buyers premium, add in the service that may be needed, the tyres etc, and then factor in you have no warranty and the convenience of dropping it back off at the dealer to fix that broken electric window etc.
Why would a less than 3 year old, UK dealer supplied car not have a warranty - regardless of if it has been sold through an auction?
Sorry, my warranty comment was too general - was talking about those outside of manufacturers warranty, regardless of how long that may be.

In fact, need to say it again....

BLOODY HELL!

And they say M3's are in demand and hence have a reputation for holding their value. The fact that it was only months ago that they were a premium. How quickly things change!

That one was well short of its reserve IIRC; it wasn't one of the 'submit highest bid' cars.
BUT, the auction was very well attended, so the highest bid does show the trade's appetite for the model.

A few bargains there, but didn't really think the 355 was one of them.
That car was an absolute bucket. Sounded rough as hell, oil pressure very low, as already mentioned written off twice, Police sale, left hand drive. Yet despite all that two blokes lost leave of their senses and got in a bidding war over it. As the bidding got higher they kept making huge increases in their bids to try and put the other bloke off. It was painful to watch.
You should have said 'hello' WC! smile

The M3 books at £35475, £32k was the money for it, maybe even a little rich although its the right colour.

550 looks good value, but the plate makes me wonder how well it's been cared for.
confused What has the plate got to do with the owners ability to care for the car?
NI pikey plates are not generally fitted to the pampered playthings of the aristocracy.
Bang on.

The trouble with stereotypes is they are usually based on fact.
Unless, of course, it was originally registered in NI......

If I were buying for the future it would have to be that Vanquish. I don't reckon that car would cost you much in depreciation over the next 10 years if loved.

All the Astons struck me as good value. That Vantage convertible was quite nice looking with the burgundy roof and interior.

The car I wanted (and which was incredible value) was the W12 Flying Spur. The interior was just awesome!

The Colchester site is the biggest car auction in Europe.
Not sure about that. Over 1,000 in the sale at Blackbushe last Friday. Regularly over 800 twice a week with a small sale of about 600 on Mondays.

It is the largest 'car auction centre' in Europe. Deals in volumes >120,000 cars a year.

Some of the prices don't look too bad, but some don't look great either??!?!?

What is the sales tax/VAT added on to the prices?
