Now that list is just plain silly, does he actually drive any of those cars??? And if I read that correctly he has nine F1's!!!! If he carries on like that soon he will have the whole run. It just seems like such a waste.

I consider McLaren still to be a private organisation, unlike BMW, Ferrari, etc. If McL. themselves have not made public what they own, I don't think an individual should be the one to publicise it. A resourceful, and obsessive, person could figure out most of it.

Cheers.

I've not seen anything like it.
If I had to guess: it seems not to be fixed, and one wouldn't want that thing bouncing around under the bonnet when the car was moving. Ergo I'd reckon it was some kind of protector that is not normally in the car, but happened to be there because the bonnet had been opened for a reason. It would keep the a/c insulation from being crushed by the weight of your hand when you were working on the car, and it would keep debris (and fluids that were being refilled) from falling into the crevices.

Well Im far from obsessive about it, and can live without knowing, just curious to know which they still had - and to be honest a car so rare and so loved by many, I cant see any harm in anyone knowing and taking an interest from the people that built it.

Rob,

In this case, someone said something to a person in confidence, so I am sure you can see why that should be respected.

Cheers.

The details on this car are rather tasty. Those anodized caps under the hood would make rather lovely paper weights in their own right. I wonder if any other uber cars have such a level of finish to the hidden parts under the surface?

I have many pictures and lots of info in my 'DO NOT SHARE' folder offered to me in confidence, and that's where they are going to stay smile [unless authorised to share at a later date]

Anyway, back to more F1 porn. Flemke, ever seen this one? Ueno #01R paint work on a road car?

Hurst,

Yeah sorry i was having a blonde mooment XP1LM. XP1 is but ashes (stored very safely) but as a certian god liek genius would say 'lets rock and roll'

I have seen that cover before in a certain workshop, suprised (and slightly concerned) its with the car now (unless they were workig on it.

Mclaren (in my opion)is still the only company (merc are slipping)who pride themselves on keeping customer's detials private. I think it also adds to the 'attraction' of the whole Mclaren F1 story.

I remember seeing his "fleet" of XJ220's at XK Engineering once. They were lent to friends and they had all raced them in the desert for fun. Ever seen a sand-blasted XJ220?
