Echo all the above. Great posts.

Do SMART cars come up at the MB auctions? Fancy a £1k run about (or do I just wait for the estate agencies to blow up!)

There's always a good dozen Smart cars in each Merc sale, but nothing for a grand. They are rarely older than 4 years.

I have standard business commissioning rates. If you'd like to cover my business class flights and hotel costs, I'll gladly photograph and note prices at any auction you like. I'll even pay for my own lunch!

Not sure if it has been said but, she is on the wrong wheels. Wonder why?

Okay it has been mentioned. However I think they are even earlier than '02 wheels. Certainly don't look like they have the diamond cut finish on the outer edge.

I am interested in the new Smart Brabus - has anyone seen these come up at auction and if so what sort of price. Thanks

Just saw a feature on the BBC News about Honda closing its plant for 2 months. The journalist was wandering around a Honda dealer (or maybe the plant's showroom?) and the S2000 had these very same 5-spoke wheels on. Must be a new wheel for 2008 which looks similar to an old style.

Christ, maybe someone just preferred those wheels.

Wrong wheels is an extremely flimsy basis to be suspect of the car's legitimacy.

My BMW has wheels off an E46 and I don't get stopped all the time by coppers thinking I've cloned the car rolleyes

Not many. They are the kiss of death for MINI dealers so I would expect he would get a very good deal from one of them.

Very intersting thread, certainly an eye opener.
Will be a lot more interesting in January.
