BMW did a 4 wheel drive E30, the iX. Think it was just he 325s.
Would that be the only 4WD BMW, except for the X3/X5/X6 of course?

Anyone remember this one? The Vauxhall Blackwatch. I did drive one. Owned by a lady (Honest).
290 horsepower from what was essentially a factory race-level five litre Chev V8. And the cars weighed just on 1100 kilograms.
South Africa also got a 5 door Sierra XR8

It was an "R-Sport" package that was Volvo's own factory approved tuning branch in the 80's. you used to get a brochure from your dealer and could have all manner of sporting bits fitted to your 300, 200 and 700 series volvo. That R-Sport 343 was one of only 100 made by Volvo (never sold in the UK)and has a 2.0litre volvo lump with with either 2 twin-choke webber 40's or the solex equivilant - I can't remember - they also ran a special interior, wheels, paint job, extra gauges, R-Sport steering wheel, sport exhaust, uprated anti rollbars and shocks etc.Anybody got more info on that 340 Volvo at the beginning?
When my mate used to work for Holden's in Norwich and they did R-Sport upgrades they also used to fit a dealer approved after market turbo kit to 240's as the factory 240 turbo was never made in RHD as the turbo compressor housing got in the way of the steering column the after market kit mounted it higher up although I have never seen one.
here's a vid of the 343 R-sport - Sounds the nuts:

The last real incarnation of the R-Sport brand was really the S60 R but they have diluted it so much now its called R-Design in the new ones. To me the ultimate R Volvo was the 850 T5-R made by TWR (see earlier in the thread)

bit of a volvo theme here but here's another (only sold in Sweden and north America I believe)
The Volvo 240 Turbo Evolution (flat hood):
It was built to homologate the 240 for group A touring car racing - I think it came with a host of bolt on goodies in the boot in a bag
