misbadging cars

Parked in front of a bloke sat in what I thought was a 63 plate XFR, as I'd noticed the 'R' badge on the black front grille. Anyways, as I walked past, It dawned on me that it didn't have the bonnet vents embossed with the 'supercharged' moniker, and at the back, it had a single exhaust, but above it, again the 'R' badge. So a 2.2 diesel I think.
I was in the wife's 5.0 XF, no wonder he looked a little sheepish.

I doubt he looked 'sheepish' at all, if it was a 63 plate it's probably an XF R-Sport, which is available with a 2.2 Diesel. Yours from £33k on the road.I was in the wife's 5.0 XF, no wonder he looked a little sheepish.
I do wonder when everyone is going to get over the fact that M badges, R badges, AMG badges and S badges now come stuck all over 4 pot diesels from the factory and stop berating the owners for it?

I've checked out the 'R-sport' and it's not what I saw. They don't have the 'R' badge front or back, and don't come with 20" alloys.I do wonder when everyone is going to get over the fact that M badges, R badges, AMG badges and S badges now come stuck all over 4 pot diesels from the factory and stop berating the owners for it?

He had almost certainly bought a couple of R badges off fleabay or elsewhere.
Each to their own I guess.
