One locally, not managed to get a picture yet.

Front and nearside, badged as a Ford Fiesta, rear and offside, badged as a Mazda 121, quite clever really.

Is there any way, using visual clues, to figure out which it really is?
Mazda has black moulding strips on the bumper corners and across the tailgate.

Saw a black Mercedes estate in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire the other day. It was clearly nearly new and had the C250 badge truncated to read C25 and a big chrome AMG badge stuck to the front grille and another to the boot lid.

Pitiful.

Saw a ford puma RS today. If you are going to badge your car up as something it's not, at least badge it up as something that actually exists.

Out for a potter in the M135i the other day, I spotted this. In fact I've spotted quite a few of these. There's always a small engined diesel driver proud to show off the fact that they have M Sport trim.

Does the M Sport trim come with that badge though? I'd imagine it does and I highly doubt anyone who specs it cares/knows enough about the debadge option to actually do it.

No. At least not on the tailgate.

I'm surprised you can spec actual AMG wheels on a non-AMG engined Merc.
You have been able to for 20 years now.
I can't remember it being an option when I got mine.
You don't have to spec them as an option they come as std now, come with amg logo'd mats as std too...

Sorry, I meant the proper AMG wheels - the ones on mine aren't ones you'd see on an E63...

I saw a Mitsubishi Mirage GT3 RS today.

I didn't think it worth starting an 'overbadging' thread, so this can go here.

Today's culprit, a Merc C220 AMG CDI.

Couldn't even fit the AMG badge straight either.

Have they started fitting indicators yet?
Or an off switch for the foglights?

Merc have taken all the supply of indicators and foglight switches from Audi. Audi don't even offer them as an option as none of their customers need indicators and the foglights are hardwired on at all times. In fact Audi are programming non-Audi owners to appreciate that the world revolves around Audi drivers....

Saw a FFRR today with a V8 badge from Halfrauds and a 4x4 badge on the back. Apparently RR's are four wheel drive? Crazy.

Saw a VW Golf GTI today. Well it was badged with GTI on the front and the back (and I'm no VW expert but I think GTI wheels too). Didn't sound like one though, the tractor sound was rather a give away that all was not kosher...

A quick check revealed the truth, a Golf 1.9 SE TDI.

Spotted at a local dealer. The different sized tyres front to rear don't inspire confidence either.
Just noticed this - doesn't the sign in the second photo say "Trade in's welcome"? rolleyes

Please tell me that is some crudely made splitter nailed to the bottom of the car.
I think the badging is the least of that cars worries.

Most people won't get it, those geeky enough to get it will think 'There hasn't been a 518i for 20 years....'

On the back of this topic I have just ordered an ///M badge for the Aygo.
