Callington Tesco 2 weeks ago - Was waiting for my elderly Nan and noticed a brand new audi s5, complete with the quad exhausts.

Anyway he gets back to his S5 before my Nan does so I listen to it start up and pull away....2.0 Tdi with S5 badges and Quad exhausts.......:shakehead:

Spotted in Glasgow. I had no idea the new MX5 was on sale yet, or that it was such a porker....

Lighter than the outgoing model apparently. A true packaging masterpiece!

I stand corrected, still AMG badged
It probably has the AMG sport package. The OEM floor mats are AMG badged as well. Not sure if the rear badge is an option from the factory, but a lot of AMG pack cars here in Germany have it (I have one with no badge). It's a bit silly, but it isn't technically mis-badged.

I don't believe you can optionally add the AMG badge here to "AMG Sport" models, unless you buy them from eBay.

I can live with certain miss-badging of cars as it's not the owners fault i.e. M Sport pack with M badges.

What really get's me is owners talking their car up to people who know what cars are.

My most recent one with a lad at work.

He descirbed the car as a 1M series turbo.

At which point he got me intrigued!

When I asked about how much power it had, he replied with 'It's really fast, preoperly shifts'

Turned out after a bit more digging it was a 118d with an M Sport pack - Not what I would call fast or sporty.

Stop telling me your car is a 'Turbo' when it is a diesel. It doesn't count!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Followed an ///M125i all the way from Wandsworth to Guildford this morning, a 125i is a perfectly good car, why would you misbadge it?!

No pics but there's a Mazda CX-7 SUV/crossover thing that I sometimes see around me with an MPS badge on the tailgate. Only they haven't got an MPS badge as fitted to a 3 MPS or similar, just the letter M, P and S in the simple silver badges you see on the stand beside the keyrings at most branches of Halfords. As far as I know there never even was a CX-7 MPS.

Recently found myself following a mk5 Golf R32. He had the standard .:R32 badge on the lower left corner of the tailgate and on the lower right corner he had... another .:R32 badge, only that one was at a bit of a jaunty angle.

Nope. Although they did do one with the 2.3T AWD drive train the same as the 6 MPS (and the same engine as the 3 MPS). It's still not an MPS though.

On the back of this topic I have just ordered an ///M badge for the Aygo.
biggrin

I was considering Type R badges for my new Insight.

Then again, perhaps not.

This started out as a joke with a few friends with us mis badging our cars, but I haven't got round to removing it yet.

Get some strange reactions, one guy last week at the lights seemed genuinely angry, asked me to roll my window down and asked why I'd spend so much money tarting up a 316i to look like an m3, just save up and buy a proper one. Surprising how not car savvy the general public are, not once has anyone that has commented on it suggested to me that the e92 coupe was never available as a 316i.

I hope you put your foot down when the lights went green. "Actually sounds not bad for a 316!"

Saw an Astra with 3 "Paul Walker 1973-2013" stickers along with quotes along the lines of "You only die once..." Wouldn't have been that bad if Stevie Wonder hadn't applied them at jaunty angles.

On a similar note to the Paul Walker stickers, there was a Red (and quite rusty) Fiesta Zetec S parked at The Meadows Sandhurst this afternoon, sporting a "Colin McRae - If in doubt....flat out" sticker on each of the 2 rear side windows & 1 on the tailgate.

As to be expected they'd been complimented by a few "scene" stickers like "I heart boobies", etc, that were attempting to cover up the rust patches and then there was the obligatory fake / replica RS badge also stuck to the tailgate.

A rather 'scened out' MX-5 with an overly loud exhaust and owner with an overly aggressive right foot pulled up to me next in a Tesco petrol station the other day.

One the N/S front wing was the Paul Walker 1973-2013 'quote' sticker "If one day the speed kills me, do not cry because I was smiling,".

He didn't seem very happy when I told him that Paul Walker had never actually said it...
