This started out as a joke with a few friends with us mis badging our cars, but I haven't got round to removing it yet.

Get some strange reactions, one guy last week at the lights seemed genuinely angry, asked me to roll my window down and asked why I'd spend so much money tarting up a 316i to look like an m3, just save up and buy a proper one. Surprising how not car savvy the general public are, not once has anyone that has commented on it suggested to me that the e92 coupe was never available as a 316i.

Love that!! laugh

If you're gonna have the badge, you might as well have the engine.

Spotted at a local dealer. The different sized tyres front to rear don't inspire confidence either.

It does appear that M badges on non-M BMWs are the worst offenders closely followed by RS badges on non-RS models.

What does that tell you?

Can I be forgiven for this...?

...and then this smile

I've grown up now and bought a Mercedes Hymer smilesmile (without a AMG badge)

If you're going to rebadge a 118D, at least slap on a 130i badge and make it straight idea

He keeps it clean and doesn't store anything in the glovebox so it's basically as fast as a 123d.

Spotted in Frimey High Street this morning.

A red E46 318i with //M badges on the boot, front grille & above both side indicators.

Other tasteless modifications included the "M3" look exhaust setup with 4 x 5" exhaust tips sticking out of the standard 318i rear bumper laugh and rolling on a set of knock-off M replica alloy wheels painted black, which were so badly kerbed it looked like they had a white rim laugh
