It's a shame the RCZ driver didn't change the plates, Robins & Day only deal in Peugeot!

Alas no photo, as I was driving

I spotted a silver saloon car, appeared to be a Daewoo Leganza

It had a Mercedes logos & Amg badges adorning its rear

Kinell - what car is it really? Is it a kit car or some regular car with grp additions?

Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ. Someone more knowledgeable may be able to tell which.

Maybe the RCZ was used in a advert?
I'm sure I've seen car insurance adverts featuring unbadged cars.

Possibly, but more likely to be someone trying to hide their embarrassment.

Nothing wrong in debadging a car, it keeps the uninformed guessing and gives a cleaner look. Unless you have a base or diesel model, then you're a cock.

I usually do it to most of my cars, which were fast things. Plus I hate all chrome.

The Toyota GT-86 isn't actually sold in the US. It is called the Scion FR-S, although GT86 rebadging is commonplace as the world has its fascination with the original Toyota Corolla Sprinter Trueno/Levin, nicknamed "Hachiroku" (Japanese for eight-six) by fond Japanese enthusiasts as it is widely regarded as a legend in it's own right. The GT86 has not had the success of the original Trueno, but it is still popular with tuners, drifters and B road blasters alike thanks to its FR layout. Scion is just a st brand really, it's Toyota's attempt at marketing their cars at a younger demographic, they produce some comically stty cars for the poor old Americans, the tC, the xD, and know they have put the poor old Hachiroku next to the bag of bks. I could go on for hours ranting about Scion but I won't because I'm not a pillock who's licking Infiniti's arse.

Sticking a Ferrari badge just brings new levels of 'saddo' to the owner. P.S, I wtote the piece on the 86 myself from general knowledge before you berate me for plagiarism. I know I sound like a journo.

Yep. It's strange, he's gone to the effort of fitting a twin-exit exhaust (and presumably, A8 bumper to match) instead of quad-exit as well as the TDi badge, but keeps the S8 badge/reg.
also replaced the 5.2 V10 engine with the 3.0 TDI, gotta admire his comittment;)

Not committed enough to update the DVLA - vehicle enquiry on that reg shows it as 5204cc wink

There's something funny about sticking a diesel badge on an S8!
Funnily enough, I have noticed a recent new trend of people calling their A-line Audis, S cars. A recent conversation about a guy's S6 which then turned out to be a diesel S-line was a bit disappointing.

People having been doing it for ages with M-sport and AMG models but seems that now the diesel Audi owners have joined the party. Even funnier is when they say that you are mad for buying a petrol S due to the fuel it eats?!?!? The world is going mad I tell you.

Mother of god! Now that is desperate.

Thing is, to many it could just look like a new model Ferrari and owner could happily bumfart around in it basking in the wondrous glances. Especially as its a non UK car.

I'll admit - although the ethos behind what has been done is pathetic, it certainly looks to have been done well in terms of quality.

Still a pathetic insect owner though. Meh

I ALMOST posted one here yesterday, when I saw van with a "BiTurbo" badge on the back, but a quick double-check shows that it IS a thing on the Vivaro,

Who'd'athunk it
