You want to see what the AMG snobs say on the Mercedes forums. They wet themselves with anger knowing that some Mercedes are not REAL AMG's but just have the body kit & badges. Bless.
Went to a classic car show recently where there was a line-up of Mercedes SLK's & while browsing the cars noted some owners proudly sporting black anoraks emblazoned with HUGE AMG logos. Noticeable was how the non-AMG cars or AMG badged but not AMG engined cars & their owners were ignored, whilst grown men sniffed round what are regarded as real AMG cars.
On another occasion in a Tesco car park prior to a Mercedes event nearby, guess who was making the most noise, doing doughnuts & generally behaving like estate Chavs? Yep V8 AMG owners. Boys as well as a few grown-ups.
So what was once a badge of pride & prestige is now one that represents childish show-off hooliganism.

At my gym there's an old 320i convertible, and they've swapped the 3 for a 4. Grade A twozzle.

Judging by the rear bumper I wonder whether they've appeared on the bad parking thread or in a thread about parking damage in SP&L at some point hehe

Or the badge is a trophy from the collision. It's like a WWII bomber, claiming the badges of cars it's reversed into

Found this gem on the commute this morning:

That's right, it's an automatic 523i with a complete knobber at the wheel! In 10 miles he had 3 cigarettes and chucked the butt out the window each time, along with a sandwich wrapper.

The wings either side of the central Mercedes star deserve a special mention.

Still insured. It's a CLK320 not a 6.3 AMG

I was sitting in traffic recently and my eyes were drawn to a silver car nearby. In the middle of the boot was the 3 pointed star , on the left an AMG badge and on the right C55 badge or similar.
I thought something didn't look right, it looked a bit weedy. Looked at the alloys, they were skinnier and smaller than expected but had the Mercedes centres.
As I moved off I got a look at the front of it. It had the star on the bonnet but I then recognised it as a Daewoo Nubira (?)

You know when you become on first name terms with the car accessory shop worker - having just bought your 10th chrome badge for £3.99 - it's time to stop and realise what you're doing. Okay?
