Unfortunately they are.
Not sure why though.I think they look good ,sound good but are just too slow,in fact very slow ...and the 727 needs a reverse gear pattern,a decent shift kit, higher stall speed converter and ratchet shifter. In fact these would liven up the 330hp by putting it in the right place at the right time.

Absolute cast iron blue chip buy, to my mind.

Couple of Volantes have come up for 70K recently.

They WILL make you money, and I wish I had 70K right now.

Back on topic, what about this?

I've said it before but I reckon that with a few well chosen tweaks one of these would be hilariously quick, i.e. take it to Roush for the engine (you could get 500bhp+ quite easily, I'm sure) and get a really good suspension set-up on it from somewhere else. Someone might think, well, what's the point, but it's classic big V8 up front, strong chassis, RWD, lots of exotic carbon and I think it's a great looking car. Made in Modena, too! I think as a design it has a strange purity to it and I liked the Qvale Mangusta before it became this. If I was a lottery winner I think it'd be a cracking project.

Some crazy bloke has actually bought the rights to the SV and is making it again... ish. Good luck to him.

Definately not unloved, cross between xj220 and veyron?
Basically it's the same Audi LeMans prototype in different clothes.

Also this one - Kodiak F1
I think it looks fantastic, very close to Maser Bora, but know nothing about it.
Everytime I look at this thread, I want one of these more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now we have son of Vector

Audi RS2, only about 2800

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_RS2_Avant

"With so much power available, the RS2 could run from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds, and achieve a maximum speed of 163 mph (262 km/h) (electronically restricted), despite weighing over 1600 kg (3527 lb). In a road test conducted in 1995, British car magazine Autocar timed the RS2 from 0 to 30 mph (48 km/h) at just 1.5 seconds, which they confirmed was faster than both the McLaren F1 road car, and also Jacque Villeneuve's Formula 1 car of that time. Even by more modern standards, its performance is exceptional; it could accelerate on-par with the C5 generation Chevrolet Corvette, and was only a tenth of a second slower to 60 than a 996 generation Porsche 911."

Yes its a great car, but I would'nt call is unloved or forgotten as its well known and well-loved. And 2,800 is quite populous for that sort of performance- most of the cars listed here have single-figure production numbers. Still, any excuse to show a picture of an RS2!

Just thought of another one having looked at another thread.

The Saleen S7 - always loved the race cars ... never seen a road one but then I'm not sure how many (if any) ever got sold in Europe.
