What about the Owen Sedanca? - XJ6 underneath hand beaten aluminium body - they only made two of the buggers both sold to arab oil tycoons:
You'll be pleased to know that at least one is still in the country if nothing has changed over the last couple of years.A mate and I spoke to the owners of it at the Bromley Pagent a couple of years ago ( a very nice couple ). I think there was 3 that was made, 2 in white and a blue one and looking through google images this seems to confirm this, 1 being the prototype.
The one we saw is shown here, although the Jaguar badge was on the front nose and a lot smaller at the time.
IIRC there is also another in this country but the owner won't sell it and the couple weren't saying where it was. I maybe wrong on this but i'm sure that's right anyway.
Edited to say - have just found one in gold.

It is. I'm of the same mind, I don't like most of the DBs/modern stuff, however I love the concept of this one. The Virage wasn't fast enough so instead of losing weight (half a tonn could have been lopped off) or improving the aero (which was crap) they bunged two superchargers on it.
Brilliant
Dare i say it but people heard about this attitude with a modern car everyone would say 'oh its too heavy' or 'when will car manufacturers start considering the weight.'Brilliant

Hate to burst the bubble but it was that high so the boot could open.I read the Charger got chronic wheelspin at 1?0mph without it on the track so they rushed the wing and nose into production.
"Winged warriors"
The boot thing is a myth, it was that high to channel the roof air. the trunk lid is unique to the Superbird and has special hinges as well. If you look at a Daytona you will see the wing is very different, the 'bird cam a year later after plenty of time to develop the set up.
It was a homologation car FFS, do you really think Richard Petty et al were more worried about getting the weekly WalMart goodies home than if the car would stick at Daytona at 190 m.p.h!
I had a great time restoring one of of these from the ground up a few years ago, it has sadly gone back to the U.S.A. now but there is one undergoing a resto by a very good team indeed over here and should be out and about in 18 months or so
