There was also the guy that wanted to connect a sand blasting rig upto his engine in order to port and polish the head!
Think it was from a Honda forum, I cant remember if he had actually done it or was thinking of doing it?
I have a feeling it was a BMW and yes he had done it.Think it was from a Honda forum, I cant remember if he had actually done it or was thinking of doing it?

I think it's a scam, I once put water instead of oil into a Suzuki alto to see what happened, it ran remarkably well, lots of steam blowing from the engine block!
But as soon as the water was vaporized, and really nothing was left, it even took 5 minutes at full revs to blow the engine. That was only a small engine..
With a 5 liter V8 from a mustang i think it would take a bit longer to destroy it! or else Americans are just ste at building cars

Mustang Cobra
It's a pi55 take.
Although I did encounter someone who did something almost as silly, no perm damage though.
A late driver, passed test at twenty, first car. Came into work saying he had changed the oil but it would not start. It would turn over a little but very slowly.
A couple of guys went home with him after work.
I passed his house on the way home so I dropped by too.
As I approached I could hear laughter and see tears running down their faces.
He had overfilled it with oil, I mean really overfilled it, to the point he could almost get no more in.
Not as uncommon as you think, a friend of my brother has recently had to have his engine changed on his 911 (997) as he overfilled with oil and destroyed the engine Mustang Cobra

My first 911 oil change was an adventure, I put my small oil drainpan under the "dry" sump not expecting too much, keeping the larger one for the oil tank. You can guess the rest
A friend of mine decided to wash out his battery, god knows why. After said flush he filled it back up with WATER. (This was back around 74).
"Won't take a charge", he told me, so I asked if he had put any battery fluid or acid in it, "WHY?", he asked............................. maybe they are related.

Reminds me of that guy who thought the engine turned the opposite way when reversing.
Some mothers do have them,But I know one that did. Believe it was the Heinkel, a bubble car bck in the 50 or 60's, it had a 2 stroke engine, and to reverse, (it had no reverse gear), you stopped the engine, and turned the key the other way, which started the engine the other way, then engaged first, and went astern.
Years ago, my old 150 cc James, which also had a 2 stroke engine was backfiring something awful at the lights, as I let the clutch out, IT WENT BACKWARDS, confused me somewhat, finally realised it must have backfired on the upstroke, pushing it down before TDC thus reversing it......
wjhat about the chap that welded a few bits of random metal to close up some of his turbo vanes.
he didn't think it necessary to worry about the centrepetal forces being exerted on his pigeon st welding- actually he didn't think about it at all- but by god he was going to argue that he knew he was right.
oh the joy of youth!

Holy lord, he's a fken specialer!!! Oh they're out there:
From a US Porsche forum:
"Been driving the car for over a year and sitting in traffic, my eyes just fell on the tachometer and noticed that the needle reading was about the 600 RPM notch when idle waiting for traffic to move . I'm asking myself WTF, shouldn't the needle be at zero when I'm idle. So I gather from the responses here that this is normal. (first manual transmission)."
