Please tell me that is a joke?

I have seen someone ask for a magazine to top up the oil. You scroll it up and stuff it (somehow) in the dip stick hole and fill up from there. Apparently?

What's wrong with using gravity to send the oil from the filler cap to where it's supposed to go? Did this person think that the dipstick hole somehow gives the oil more direct access to the crank?

really can't believe people are biting on such an obvious wind-up, bit like the one where the guy said he fedd sand into the intake to polish his manifold in-situ.

I wondered what the big deal was as I got to the bit where said he was going to flush the engine.

It only took the word "hose" ro realise.

It's a pi55 take.

Although I did encounter someone who did something almost as silly, no perm damage though.
A late driver, passed test at twenty, first car. Came into work saying he had changed the oil but it would not start. It would turn over a little but very slowly.
A couple of guys went home with him after work.
I passed his house on the way home so I dropped by too.
As I approached I could hear laughter and see tears running down their faces.
He had overfilled it with oil, I mean really overfilled it, to the point he could almost get no more in.

A women came into the workshop next door to me with her corsa absolutely brimmed to the top with oil, apparently her old car used to use quite a bit so she just kept on adding oil to it, half a litre here, half a litre there. I have never seen smoke so thick come out of an exhaust in my life......
