Some friends had one of these years ago. Downed fuel like a rugby playing uni student, and set of car alarms that it passed apparently. I'll point of of them to this thread....
Thanks Stu wink

LM002 was epic, loved it. Used to love go TVR hunting down the A3 in it and blowing them away!! Immense road presence isn't the word. Friend also had a Hummer H2 at the same time, sadly haven't got a picture of them together frown

Parts are VERY hard to find and are costly. MPG was laughable, but who cares. Running out of fuel in it and using my TR to tow it was a highlight wink

For anyone with any doubt, the LM is no zero, this is a PH Zero:

So how can the LM002 be a "PH ZERO" (as described on the header) - when there seems to be unanimous consenus (well 9 pages of us anyway) calling it a Hero??? Surely to be called a Zero that has to be the view of those on PH?

I fear Tony has missed the mark - the PH collective have voted - the LM002 is a HERO!

CHANGE THE ARTICLE!

This site is called "PISTONHEADS" FFS. Every pistonhead who grew up in the eighties loves the LM002.

To be honest, I like reading the debate this feature has created. We knew it would be a very controversial article when we published it.

I'm of the opinion that any PH feature should inspire debate, and this one certainly has smile

Would I have am LM? Of course I would!

Other zeroes to follow, don't lose faith just yet hehe

Well this has certainly sparked some lively debate! The PH Zeroes feature is supposed to be an opinion and have a whiff of tongue in cheek.

We appreciate if the majority disagrees and in this case an honorary PH Heroes status could be applied. Expect a less controversial PH Zeroes next week smile

Future "PH Zeroes" :-

Lamborghini Countach - "...terrible fuel economy, awful rear visibility, and nowhere to put the shopping!....."

Porsche 911 RS 2.7 - "...rattly engine, poor heating, and terrible to drive in the snow......"

Lamborghini Miura - "....what an awful driving position, and as for insurance groups...."

Land Rover Defender - "..oh, it was terribly agricultural, and I really struggled to park it in town..."

McLaren F1 - " ......horribly loud, no sunroof, and as for the air conditioning...."

I dread to think what "PH Heroes" are going to be in future?........Ford Ka?.........Toyota Camry?.......give me strength!

Anyone can have a PERSONAL opinion about a car - that's fine - but the article should definitley be re-named - it's OK to say - "Tony M think it's a ZERO"...or "Haymarket think it's a Zero" - but I don't feel the PH collective can have their name put to the article when they so clearly and vehemently disagree!

LAMBORGHINI LMOO2 - A TRUE "PH HERO"!!!!

What on everyone of the many many engines they make for marine and automotive use??

Prove it mate?

Never heard of it with the Range Rover VM, we didn't have a problem in 10 years with it and I know where the vehicle is and its still running.
As you well know I was talking about the VM engine in the rangey which you have a peculiar love for. As far as proof goes, you'll forgive me if I prefer the opinion of difflock.com to your experience of one engine.

So the line in the story, in the opening paragraph, where we said "Tony Middlehurst explains..." rather than "PH decides on behalf of all its members" didn't do that then? rolleyes

Stuart - semantics I'm afraid. redcard

The "Tabloidesque" heading of the article - in bold - is : PH ZEROES: RAMBO LAMBO

Not really ambiguous is it? biggrin
