Even though it seems this was made for racing, I do wish more attention had been paid to the interior. You have an brilliant exterior with a full color scheme with an interior that looks like an afterthought and very rough.

Curious that in 7 pages of this blog and on all the other websites and blogs about this car none of them seem to mention the engine!

Reading between the lines it looks like it has Aston-Martin power. Can anyone confirm that?
Looks long enough for a BMW straight six but from the gear box linkage I'd quess a Ford Zetec on a Type 9 box.

The caption to the picture I posted above says it is a Bristol Engine

2L Bristol straight six being itself based on (via stolen plans after WW2) the BMW straight six. It's the same engine used in AC Ace Bristols and Frazer-Nash racers. A very highly regarded engine. So in effect both previous posters are right!

Beautiful job on the car in this thread. The overall shape pays respect to the era and the rear end especially has a feel of something that could've been built by Frazer-Nash in the late 50's. Only the mouth opening betrays the modern origins as it's very contemporary with the surfacing. The buck is a beautiful piece of engineering!

Late to this one but what a fascinating read and what a fantastic car, as has been said many times. Beautiful.

Close. I live in Sturminster Newton and the car was built by Andy Mitchell of Mitchell Motors who is in Chicklade.

Engine is from a Bristol as previously stated. Thanks for all the comments.

It has seats, a steering wheel, a gear lever and some pedals - what more do you want?!

I think it looks stunning, inside and out. Beautifully proportioned from all angles - well done.
