Is this not the coolest thing you have ever seen?

Belive the hype. The E30 M3 is a legend. Don't buy a cheap one though.

Wish the digital display was standard on these, as it is is actually an Alpina part, and it is easier to find rocking horse pooh than a complete one of these that does not require selling of organs to acquire.
i thought it was an alpina part when i saw the picture. I guess as fitted to b6 3.5s and b10 bi turbo's.

E30 M3's are Brilliant cars by the way, i miss mine more than alot.

It's over 15 years since I drove one of these, albeit not one of the 2.5 Sport Evo's, it was a Johnny Cecotto Edition one, but that report brought back the memories of that drive.

One of THE greatest of the homolgation specials.

An absolute gem of a car owned by a gentlemen. I have had the pleasure of a passenger ride in this car and can testify to the cars quality.

All credit to you Pradip.

Utterly utterly stunning. One of these would always appear top of the list in my fantasy garage.

Would love an image of Pradips car as Pic of the week? Please? Pretty please Mr Garlick kind sir?

The only mistake in the article is price.

2 top condition sport evos recently sold for 45k +

EvoII's are pushing 25-30 in top condition

and excellent non evo models will be 15k-20k

And yes they are really being sold at this price even with a economic crisis.

Which is why they *hurt* when watching them race live. I remember vividly the first time the M3s and Roberto Raviglia came to the UK and the Donnington race. Mein Gott but those things *screamed* and hurt your ears.

That memory is the reason why I am so scathing about the current iteration of the M3, why I regard it as a pastiche of what a great car should. I have that sound indelibly burned into my memory as a child and of these utterly mental machine driven by legends. Wtf is the current M3 if not a pastiche of that? It is an insult to a legend. BMW dont even race it anymore leaving it to 2ltr rubbish.

Not quite Dieter Quester and Roberto Raviglia is it?

E30s are the pinnacle of car evolution in my opinion. E30 M3s just happen to be the best E30.

YES, i had a Cecotto too, F335DDY I think from memory, loved that car and only sold it 'cos I wanted a TVR. Now, with the exception that new wifey wouldn't feel "safe" in a LHD stuck out in the traffic without a wheel to play with, an M3 would be ideal car for me what with a wee 'un now, sitting in the back.
Oh and I believe it got written off after I sold it but may be mistaken.

God that does look good. 20years old and frankly that looks showroom fresh well done to the current & previous owners for really keeping this is top condition.

I guess none of these ltd editions are used as daily drives instead just the std E30 M3. What are they like?
