Hi Dan,
I am “in the process” of renewing my car insurance with yourselves and have never used yourselves before as you have never been competitive enough. However, I am pleased to say on this occasion after some encouragement you are. The policy is due to start on the 25th of this month- 2008 audi TT 3.2 and I am 26 years old with 6 years NCB. I gave your colleague all the details and they gave me a good quote which i accepted, however when I read the documentation that came through on email it never had my points disclosed on it- for driving with tinted windows on my brothers car and speeding. I have just got off the phone to you guys to get these details added and been told that it would increase my premium which is fine and I accept that. I wanted the PH discount to be applied and they have told me that I already have a discount applied as I was a member of the MR2 OC which I never have been-never had an MR2. I told your colleague this who then went on to say that the discount (of 5%) would be applied regardless even if I wasn’t a member and therefore could not get the 15% PH discount! I have told them not to debit my account for the remaining premium as i wanted to get your help with this first.
Can you sort this out so I get the right discount applied? Also would my policy be due a reduction as I had a 350z before this- I have just read that is 1 of the factors taken into consideration when calculating a quote.
I have just sent you an email to pistonheads@adrianflux.co.uk to this effect.
Thanks
Usman

I'd just like to say that this deal was a godsend for me.
22 with 6pts.
living in london.
The best quotes I could get were £1800+, tfpt anywhere for my normal fiesta.

Even when I got a quote from Adrian Flux, the best they gave me was £1790.
Found this discount offer.
Called them on the number provided.
£1300 biggrin
THank you PH, and thank you AF

Surely the whole country will find out about this deal and AF end up having to give a 15% discount to everyone - or is it just me?

well hornet, judging from what everyone here's been saying, it doesn't offer the cheapest quote for everyone. But for me it did.

Blimey, that all sounds a bit dodgy... Is this discount scheme FSA approved and regulated?
Discounts are all rubbish IMO. The business has a price in mind, they then mark it up internally and later they {may} offer a discount which pulls the punters in. How many businesses show you what amount they actually pay for goods or services when bought at cost to them?

None!

Do you require E46 BMW M3's to have trackers fitted?

Used AF once for my home insurance, which did cause problems, but to be fair they were sorted out so willing to give another chance if the price is right.

Hi,

I would need some more information as some of our Insurers will require a tracker fitted in some circumstances and others won't.

Sorry I'm not being very helful but if you could email me your details (Name , Postcode, Whether your car is Garaged etc) and I can look into it for you.

what happened to no advertising on this site? Dan, how much are you guys paying Haymarket for this advertising?

By the way folks, "up to 15% off" means nothing.

I just insured the Corrado with Adrian Flux. Talked to a really knowledgeable and helpful chap on the phone and managed to knock £80-odd off HIC's renewal quotation like-for-like, and after some further discussion and limiting the mileage to 5000, a full £100 off the renewal. So I'm happy.

And, yes, mentioning PistonHeads did secure a discount, as did IAM. I'm not sure what percentage either were though.

Edit: I didn't use the dedicated number though because I didn't see this thread until after I got off the phone. D'Oh!
And I forgot to mention RideDrive too, although I guess IAM membership is equivalent and I doubt there would be anything extra off for RideDrive *and* IAM over just IAM.

Edit2: And I didn't realise that AF and HIC are part of the same group.

Considering the thread was started by a member of PH staff and is quoting a PH article, I would say that Adrian Flux have the blessing of PH / Haymarket here.

Of course they do. It's sponsorship. It's a bit sad (but unsurprising) that this is the way the site is heading.

It's nothing new. We had "partnerships" like this even in the pre-Haymarket PetrolTed days.

If you get a quote, first don't say "I'm from Pistonheads", or else how do you know your quote includes 15% discount?

Get a price, then say "Oh by the way, I'm on Pistonheads", and then see if you get 15% off. biggrin
Did that and they went away and came back with it's only 10% on a Cayenne still saved another £50 so in total saved £121 from previous insurer Esure.

Thank you for the comments about us.

We can offer up to 15% on the Insurance, However it does depend on which Insurer is quoting the best for you.

Dan.

Dan - would I have got the full discount by mentioning PistonHeads when I took out insurance on the weekend, despite not using the special phone line?

Yes if you mentioned you were a member of Piston Heads then the discount would be applied.
If you would like to Email me your Name and Postcode I can check and make certain it is correct.
Regards,
Dan.

Why is it sad, it's a discount.
Before this A Plan used to advertise on the site with stickies in the forums, I don't recall a discount.

They just sorted me a 40% discount! Admittedly it wasn't 40% cheaper than my best quote, but it was £160 cheaper (nearly 20%).
