I never understood Flux, whenever I've phoned up they have just passed me on to some random company I have never heard of, who then go and give an uncompetitive quote.

How do they look upon points? I have 6 and I am looking for about a 1.6.
They look at each caase individually, so probably best to give them a bell.

Class cheers.

If you get a quote, first don't say "I'm from Pistonheads", or else how do you know your quote includes 15% discount?

Get a price, then say "Oh by the way, I'm on Pistonheads", and then see if you get 15% off. biggrin
There is a specific PH members telephone number in the article so when we call Adrian Flux already knows you are a member!

I'll give 'em a call in May to see how the 15% helps towards my premium - Top stuff, btw! thumbup Again, Adrian Flux has always been a fair bit more than my current insurer A-Plan, but worth a go smile

Well I just rang them, and even with the discount got quoted £100 more than my current insurer, whom I found through Gocompare.

Just saved myself an incredible £600 this morning by moving to Admiral from another insurer.

Tempted to give Flux a ring see if they can better.

Presumably no-one wil mention the 15% discount until after they've given you their lowest quote as I find "discounts" to be no better than you can negotiate anyway. Same applies to any owner's club discounts - usually when you've negotiated the best rate, you mention the owner's club and they disregard it.

I used to insure with Flux but a number of issues arose:

1. When we changed the Civic Type R for a Mazda 5, they were hopeless on the switch to a normal car and uncompetitive so the policy had to be cancelled with "the usual fee plus expenses".
2. For the Mustang, they insisted on an immobiliser or tracker, which A-Plan don't require.
3. On the two occasions I rang them they were at least £200 more than A-Plan and as good as said "We can't get anywhere near that".

On the plus side, I had no problems with the paperwork, they were far more fastidious on declared mods, requiring photos etc so you knew that in the event of a claim, there was going to be less of an argument but they did want to know what you paid, who fitted it,when etc. which I thought was a good thing. Not having had to make any claim on insurance for over 20 years, I can't comment on how that would pan out though.

There are, of course, cheap nsurers who have a reputation for complete incompetence but I am happy with A-Plan and I remain sceptical about discounts.

Just requested a quote for my Integra. £150 more than I'm paying now, so no use to me.

I am buying a car in the next week or so. Will defo be giving them a call.

WRT the 25% discount on an approved driving test, what tests are on the list??

If you take a policy out with them (at the 15% discounted rate) and then do the test will they issue a refund on the other 25%??

Cheers

The Moose

P.S. If any of the Flux guys are reading this, I am sorry about refering to yourselves as they!! ;-)

That's really good news, I moved to them last year as they were much more reasonable when it came to modifications. My policy is due for renewal at the end of the month and I've already had a letter through the door with the price, is it just a case of giving the number a ring and the price will be updated with the discount?

I've used Flux for my last 2 cars, good prices and service.

This just makes them even more competitive for PH'ers, which can only be a good thing.

I've always found Adrian Flux to be very competitive. Whenever I've had my renewal through, I've got quotes from elsewhere and Adrian Flux have always beaten it.

does that mean that i can phone up now and get 15% back from the £2600 i paid last july?... (as the article seems to suggest: 'anytime')

Both my cars with Flux. I've on occasion bounced between Flux and A-Plan but at the moment Flux saved me a few £100 on the MX5 over A-Plan.

Hi everyone.

Just a short introduction. I’m Daniel. I’ve worked for Adrian Flux Insurance for nearly 20 years now.

If any of you guys on here have any general insurance queries or specific problems with Adrian Flux insurance please let me know. I have handpicked a small but dedicated team of staff who, with myself will try and assist you wherever possible. I can assure you we will be completely impartial despite being on the pay roll of Adrian Flux. If we have messed up we will acknowledge that and make efforts to get it corrected. If any of you do not understand an insurers viewpoint we will do our best to clearly explain it.

It could be problems ranging from simple paperwork issues to major claim disputes. With our years of experience we should be able to answer most queries immediately. If there were issues or a problem that we can’t answer directly we would ensure that a relevant manager investigates these and we would then be able to relay an answer back.

I hope this will be of some helps for you.

On behalf of myself and my team thanks very much.

Daniel.

Really refreshing to see people actually understanding drivers these days, especially with the kinds of cars people own on here.

I know its kind of been answered above, but does this just apply to performance cars/certain specs, or would the discount still apply to your everyday BMW for instance?

Great work guys, and also to Adrian Flux, i'm sure alot of people will be appreciative, myself included.
Hello,

The discount will apply to everyday BMW/Vauxhall/Ford whatever you own so long as a member of this forum.

Hello,

We have certain Schemes for drivers with points on so this would not be a problem for us to offer you a quote.

Noooo. I just sorted mine out with them at the beginning of February weeping

I can highly recommended them though, they have always been very helpful.
If you would like I can amend your file to show you are a member on here.
This way your discount could be included for your next Renewals.

If you call the number up you would be put through to reception so if you explain that you want the Renewals Dept they will transfer you through.
When you get through please just say you would like your membership for here added to your policy.

Dan.
