Flux are the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. It'll take a lot more than a 15% discount to get me to go with them again.

I've tried them four times in as many years on different vehicles and sadly they've never been anywhere near the price I've ended up with from some of the larger insurers.

is this the same Dan that's on the FFOC? Flux have been great for me, adding mods via email and getting a pdf confirmation is a plus!

I used to be insured by them when they were first around (long time ago it seems now) - any specialist or kit car owners and that's where we'd head: Adrian Flux.

Would like to think they are still as good.

Personally, I would rather be given a quote THEN the discount applied!!

At the moment we've got three cars insured with AF but will probably move to some sort of multi-car insurer when I can summon up the enthusiasm.

About a year ago I asked for a no-claims certificate as I'd previously had difficulty (with another firm) getting a certificate after I'd moved.

Unknown to me AF then removed the discount and protection from the car despite the fact that I didn't leave them.

When I eventually discovered this and pointed it out, I just got an airy "Oh, we assumed you were going" (Although not enough to refrain from taking the premium).

If AF offer a multi-car deal I'll happily stay with them.
If not, probably not.

Having said that, it is a bloody good idea and for the most part should give AF access to a pool of potential customers who are possibly more enthusiastic and knowledgeable about cars and driving than the average driver.

Tried Flux about a year ago only to find they don't insure TVR's, so either the caption on here is a joke or they have changed their policy. Placed my business elsewhere.

They definitely insure TVRs. We'd have really struggled to recommend them here otherwise...

Worth you talking to Dan about that I suspect.

Can't issue NCB cert for NCB that is still attached/insured under a policy that is still in force - that is probably why they removed you NCB from the policy before they issued it.

I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, I'm not going into details here, but my experience was not a pleasant one and frankly I would rather dangle my privates in a blender.

Another "don't touch them with any sort of pole". Quite happy to take your money but when it came to a claim for damage to my car, they didn't once offer any help, just told me to contact the underwriters, who were a shower of B*****ds and refused to pay the claim despite several experts helpful opinions as to the extent of the damage. Absolute s**ds, couldn't give a monkeys once they had my premium.

My insurance was up, and was quoted £230 renewal. I shopped around (as usual), but no-one could beat my renewal quote (which was really odd).

Anyway - phoned AF - and as well as getting my insurance down to £200 - it also came with higher levels of cover, lower excess, cover in europe, etc, etc. So I'm well chuffed.

And another PH, reduced her insurance on a Z3 from £570 to £250!

2 very happy customers here smile

same here

im 27, 5 years no claims, no points, no accidents, and i dont live in a dodgey area. the car is an old rover with a 1.8 litre engine

compared to the larger insurers, theyre quote was astronomical, even with the 15% discount!

hope they work out better for other people. thumbs up to pistonsheads for working out a deal to help members out a little

Quoted me nearly double what the mainstream insurance companys did.

Were the only ones to call me back from their website though when I requested a call back, HIC and A-Plan didnt bother to.

does that mean that i can phone up now and get 15% back from the £2600 i paid last july?... (as the article seems to suggest: 'anytime')
Your membership to the forum can be added and then upon your renewal the price would include your discount.

Regards,
Dan.

Hi everyone.

Just a short introduction. I’m Daniel. I’ve worked for Adrian Flux Insurance for nearly 20 years now.

If any of you guys on here have any general insurance queries or specific problems with Adrian Flux insurance please let me know. I have handpicked a small but dedicated team of staff who, with myself will try and assist you wherever possible. I can assure you we will be completely impartial despite being on the pay roll of Adrian Flux. If we have messed up we will acknowledge that and make efforts to get it corrected. If any of you do not understand an insurers viewpoint we will do our best to clearly explain it.

It could be problems ranging from simple paperwork issues to major claim disputes. With our years of experience we should be able to answer most queries immediately. If there were issues or a problem that we can’t answer directly we would ensure that a relevant manager investigates these and we would then be able to relay an answer back.

I hope this will be of some helps for you.

On behalf of myself and my team thanks very much.

Daniel.

Ha, makes me laugh.
As I said in my previous post, you seriously did not help me when I tried to claim, your company was happy to take my money, but you were not the slightest bit interested when I had a claim, not even a claim involving another car. So thank you very much, and for anyone who is thinking of using AF, remember it is not just about how cheap an insurance company is, but how they deal with any claim you have. AF didn't even give me a courtesy call to see how I was getting on with their underwriter. They will probably do the same to you if you are unlucky enough to need them.

Strange question, don't have any no claims to speak of but I have been on my other halfs direct line policy for a number of years and accumulated their named driver no claims, would you accept that as no claims?
Hello,

NCB needs to be earned in your own name for our Insurers to accept it.

Dan.
