Tried Flux about a year ago only to find they don't insure TVR's, so either the caption on here is a joke or they have changed their policy. Placed my business elsewhere.
Hello,

We're able to quote on TVR's now.

At the moment we've got three cars insured with AF but will probably move to some sort of multi-car insurer when I can summon up the enthusiasm.

About a year ago I asked for a no-claims certificate as I'd previously had difficulty (with another firm) getting a certificate after I'd moved.

Unknown to me AF then removed the discount and protection from the car despite the fact that I didn't leave them.

When I eventually discovered this and pointed it out, I just got an airy "Oh, we assumed you were going" (Although not enough to refrain from taking the premium).

If AF offer a multi-car deal I'll happily stay with them.
If not, probably not.

Having said that, it is a bloody good idea and for the most part should give AF access to a pool of potential customers who are possibly more enthusiastic and knowledgeable about cars and driving than the average driver.
Hello,

I'd like to apologise about the error you had on your account. We could look into to a multi car policy for you. Just email me your details when your ready.

Regards,
Dan.

Hi everyone.

Just a short introduction. I’m Daniel. I’ve worked for Adrian Flux Insurance for nearly 20 years now.

If any of you guys on here have any general insurance queries or specific problems with Adrian Flux insurance please let me know. I have handpicked a small but dedicated team of staff who, with myself will try and assist you wherever possible. I can assure you we will be completely impartial despite being on the pay roll of Adrian Flux. If we have messed up we will acknowledge that and make efforts to get it corrected. If any of you do not understand an insurers viewpoint we will do our best to clearly explain it.

It could be problems ranging from simple paperwork issues to major claim disputes. With our years of experience we should be able to answer most queries immediately. If there were issues or a problem that we can’t answer directly we would ensure that a relevant manager investigates these and we would then be able to relay an answer back.

I hope this will be of some helps for you.

On behalf of myself and my team thanks very much.

Daniel.

Daniel, you have mail.

All I can say is BEWARE and READ THE SMALL PRINT - VERY CAREFULLY!

I took out an insurance Policy for my TVR Tamora through Adrian Flux last year and then cancelled it straight away after receiving the Policy. The Policy was with Norwich Union. I found there was an undisclosed Endorsement added to the Policy when I read the small print, that I was not told about. I found out the car was not covered for theft unless it was locked in my garage every night ! When I queried it, they said it would be okay if I stayed overnight somewhere for a couple of days, BUT - my fiancee who works as a Compliance Consultant in financial services, said it most definitely did not read that way - and the Insurance Company could easily walk away from any claim, if the car was stolen or broken into overnight, even if left parked on my own drive!
Adrian Flux Insurance failed to point out this 'Significant Limitation' to me when I took the Policy out, which they are obliged to disclose under the 'FSA Insurance Conduct of Business Regulations'.
Norwich Union informed me this was not their standard wording, but that of the broker.
You have 14 days, by law, in which to change your mind and get a full refund. I wrote to them to this effect and got an immediate full refund.
Oddly enough, I took out a new Policy direct with Norwich Union - and it was considerably cheaper, better cover and no limitations !!
SO fellow Phers BEWARE, and check any endorsement wording very carefully.

Doesn't that apply to any policy from anybody! wink

You never know all the "features" of a policy until it turns up and you can read the small print. I always assume the person selling the policy is an uneducated phone monkey (while hopeing they are not), and that I will need to check the policy when it arrives.

Yes, you're absolutely right, but Insurers and their Agents have to disclose any 'Significant Exclusions or Limitations' UPFRONT.

Another "don't touch them with any sort of pole". Quite happy to take your money but when it came to a claim for damage to my car, they didn't once offer any help, just told me to contact the underwriters, who were a shower of B*****ds and refused to pay the claim despite several experts helpful opinions as to the extent of the damage. Absolute s**ds, couldn't give a monkeys once they had my premium.

I am another one with the "don't touch AF" brigade. They gave me a reasonable initial quotation, and I got suckered into their "we support car enthusiasts" adverts. As soon as I tried to change the car on the policy their reasonable quote went sky-high. They tried to change the policy in a way that was illegaly - similar expierience to what Kruncher has detailed above.

A question for Garlick/Pistonheads management: What is the commercial relationship between AF and PH? Why is PH pimping a rubbish insurer - what do they get out of it? I would prefer to just click more ads than have "product placement".

Any company which deals with large numbers of people will have the same responses.

Direct Line
More than
Elephant
A-Plan
etc etc

There have been threads about all of them with people saying how rubbish they are.

My own experiance is I had to make a claim on a Flux policy. Phoned up and arranged the repair. Took car to be fixed. Car was fixed. Collected car.

Ok the next years quote was increased by 2/3 of the cost of the repair. So I walked then. But actually dealing with Flux and the insurance company went smoothly.

Hello,

There could be several reasons why your quote was not competitive when you changed your car as some of our Insurers are very good with moddied cars then if you changed to a standard car they are not able to be competitive because they specialise in moddied.
Obviously without looking at your details i cannot give you a definitive answer as to what happened but if you would like to email me your details i will gladly look into it for you.

Dan, the PM should be sent via the email address in your PH profile?
(just ensure the email address in your profile points to the valid address you require mail to go to wink )

I also sent you a mail this way, as an AF customer for records to be updated..

You really should give us existing customers something in retrospect, even if its only freebie PH stickers / coasters... tongue out

Keeping customers is actually harder than getting new ones these days, whatever you marketing people think? A few of your loyal customers will be feeling a tad bemused that newbies are getting better deals than them, I am sure.

Hi Dan,

Cheeky question, I'm a member on here and the ffoc.co.uk do I get 30% off? lol

To everyone else,

I received my renewel price from churchill recently, came out at £1400+ on just the basic policy. So I gave AF a call and its going to cost me just over £100 less with almost everything ticked and modifications declared (mods that will be made once the policy starts) Its not the best I can do price wise but other places didnt offer me quite as much protection for the only slightly better quotes so I'm happy. Also very polite and helpful person on the other end of the phone who was actualy interested in dealing with me a signing me up as a customer. Unlike the unhelpful churchill woman who when I said I wouldnt be renewing made no effort to keep my custom.

Saying that though, some peoples coments have worried me slightly and if they cant give me a godd renewel price in a years time I will run off and find someone else to insure my car.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

All existing customers with us that are also members on here can just email me and I will add it to their Policy, Then when the Renewal comes through from us it will automatically include the discount.

I'm not sure if there is any related merchandise but I will certainly look into it.

Regards,
Dan.

Hi,

This will last for ever.

Regards,
Dan.
Will just quote this for future reference!!! biggrin

Anyway, what do you think to my previous questions ( I have been through the thread and can't see them answered??):

I said:
I am buying a car in the next week or so. Will defo be giving them a call.

WRT the 25% discount on an approved driving test, what tests are on the list??

If you take a policy out with them (at the 15% discounted rate) and then do the test will they issue a refund on the other 25%??

Cheers

P.S. If any of the Flux guys are reading this, I am sorry about refering to yourselves as they!! ;-)
