Hello We count Pistonheads members the same as owners club members most of the time as it applies similar discounts. I don't think it would show on any of your docs as its within the calculations when working out your rate. If you are not sure if it has been applied then you can PM me your details and I can double check for you. Thanks Ash

Hi Ash. Maybe you would like to help a pistonhead member resolve a ridiculous situation with Adrian Flux. I used to own a 156 GTA. Insurance costed 400 per year, enabling me to drive other cars. It was renewed in April. Fast forward to now, and I have sold the GTA. I needed to insure my lovely old XM full time. I was given a quote of 213 quid, which is excellet, except I'm not able to drive other cars. I ask if I can have a quote enabling me to drive other cars. Yes is the answer. For 700 quid. What the actual f k? Are you all smoking crack there? My only other option is a refund of 174 quid. I fail to understand how over 50% of my premium has "been used" in less than 5 months. Your comments please. Disgruntled of Southampton

When are Flux starting selling policies in The Republic of Ireland? The choice of underwriters here is VERY limited...

Your comments please. Disgruntled of Southampton Hello It sounds like due to the type of vehicle you are now insuring, you would be on a classic car policy which would usually not allow you to drive other vehicles. The other schemes we would have for that car would not be specialist classic policies so would not be tailored to that type of vehicle so they tend to be very expensive. In regards to refunds many of the companies that we use have varying ways they give work out cancellation figures. Most of the classic schemes don't give any refunds upon cancellation. I would need you to PM me your details to give you any more information about this. Thanks Ash

I have just come out of a company car scheme so I have no no claims discount, although I have 15 years + as a company car driver without a claim. Purchased a Renaultsport Megane 265 earlier this year. I had originally got a quote for around £850.00 for an RS250 but as the 265 was a new model and not even on the list of most companies I ended up paying £2,200.00 with Renault insurance as the only option I had, which has seriously pi**ed me off. Is this something that Flux would be competitive with? I reckon at some point I should be able to get a more realistic deal and I would look to cancel the existing insurance and reinsure if the saving/refund makes it worthwhile

Have you tried asking your company car insurer if they will confirm number of years of accident free motoring? Some companies will accept this in certain circumstances - worth a try.

Once you have a years ncb from Renault and you have owned that vehicle for 12 months we have specialist hot hatch schemes that could get you a good deal. Feel free to PM me some details at the time and I can have a look at quotes for you. Thanks Ash

Currently discussing my discount with Flux at the moment. They want me to provide my username and password to pistonheads so that they can verify my membership! Really? That's madness!

theboyfold said: Thought I'd just mention your policy of sending through an inflated quote with the promise of automatic renewal just lost you a customer. Lucky for me I had to change my card this year.
I utterly hate that practice and I've found a better policy which is 30% less than your inflated quote. +1 (well +2 actually) both renewals from Flux this year at least £200 more than elsewhere. With the first renewal I went through the rigmarole of a re-quote with Flux and they managed to knock £170 off. Still went elsewhere. This renewal, not even bothering...
